http://mwomercs.com/...or-faction-hub/

If you post it here or there I will get around to updating it.

You can be on TS and MWO voice at the same time, so those of you who like to lead could transmit to both and invite people to your TS for future matches. You'll probably get some takers.

If the ingame chat worked you could also post your TS info.

From what I have seen from these forums grouping up with other people and talking to them is akin to setting your own firstborn on fire.

Stannis eventually got his due. Or did he?

Are these in game comms or is there a list of third party servers that can be used?

I'm almost in my 2nd month playing MWO; most of my games were in CW. I still consider myself a noob and still learning/improving in this game. Started as a clueless solo pug then join a TS server then eventually got recruit from a unit. Pug-life wise I can say been there and done that ,despite the still short MWO experience: dropping with trial mech only toget steamrolled by more organized groups with better mech builds, shot here and there while I run like a headless chicken, got farmed from the dropzone, and got killed slowly piece by piece/component by component by brutal 12-man groups. I know at the end of the day its just a game but I would be lying to myself for not feeling bad afterall I've been a passionate cyberspace gamer all my life. With all that said, I understand how pugs feel about CW. So far, I managed to make CW work for me, thanks to those mature players I dropped with during the 1st week of playing MWO. To those who don't like CW; no need to flame threads that extends to those who wants to improve their CW experience but are struggling. If this thread is not for you then just don't post or lurk or ignore these kind of thread at all. There are lots of existing anti-CW thread where you can vent out or play devil's advocate. Go there and foam your mouth there all you want. Otherwise, just lurk or completely ignore this thread. Show some forum etiquette and maturity once in a while.

Going back to topic which is about joining TS: there are really great, cool guys who will really help you; as long you will cooperate with them. Good chance you'll get recruited in a unit as well. Kudos to you threadstarter. I hope more of you will continue help others in CW.

Remember that game you ran with me in emerald taiga (on my clan alt) yesterday with DSx? A nice and inclusive bunch of people they were with a good attitude, a very enjoyable game with them. Shame so many refuse to partake eh?
I'll say it a thousand times folks, get yourself on a ts and speak to people. You'll find they are nicer than you think!

More often than not, players in CW are OK with others from their faction grouping with them.

The best way to learn as a new player is join a group and observe/listen.

Simply ask if a group is on comms, and if you can join them. After a few gaming sessions of joining this group or that group, it becomes more clear who is more fun to play with and pretty soon the new player has a regular group of people they drop with.

Whole process takes about a week of just saying Hi to random people. Another couple weeks of the same behavior will find the new player a unit to join with like minded people who are more than happy to have a new person join them.

Ive said it a number of times already but i was a pure PUG, the thought of joining a unit despite numerous invites was anathema to me, but just before Tuk i joined a unit with guys i had chatted to and have been with them since. I can still PUG when/if i want but like the group play much more. CW is fun whether we win or lose, we talk crap and have lots of fun. Definitely wouldn't have it any other way than be in a unit now ... never thought i would say that after 1.5 years as a pure PUG.

Really, join a unit and see how you like it is all i can say.

So many times I see lonely pugs trying to play CW, only to get stomped by a single unit 12 man group. CW is bad enough as it is with the long wait times, low population etc.. So make it easier on yourself. Get on your factions TS and group up. A mixed group of solos and random unit members who are on the same TS and working together almost always do far better than a bunch of mixed pugs randomly thrown together.

In Davion we have a weekly faction wide event called Wed Night Warfare where we bring as many pugs we can find into organized group drops. We all meet every Wed on the Davtion Teamspeak server. We don't always win, but we win far more often that if we were all dropping solo.

Check out this video for an idea, it is from last weeks Wed Night Warfare. It is a mixed group with some unit members and some solo pilots. Many of us had never dropped together before and one of the guys in the group only started playing the game a few days before. Yet we pulled off a win against a mixed group of clanners.

This is so nice. Kudos to your unit for arranging events like these.

Yeah, House Kurita encourages HK pugs to get on our TS hub all the time. Sometimes they do, other times they don't want to.

You can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink.

Also this is what I call actual PUG. PUG = Pick Up Group. A group that is actually formed by people. In PUGS there atleast appears to be the will to cooperate and play in a team.

Bunch of randoms is just.. Bunch of randoms who might not even speak the same language. It's what you meet in normal queue who people in MWO commonly call as PUG games.

I like this. Which is why I would want PGI to add in a bit more.. robust chat system in the hangar/start menu. You know, like IRC, that old ass concept from the time when electricity was invented? All older games had that and I'm glad atleast DOTA has it. I don't know why games today don't do that. Especially MWO which revolves quite heavily around having specific mechs with specific loadouts. You'd think that this, if any game, would have chatrooms and everything. Oh well. I guess they tried to be another LoL.

The Wednesday TS group is a great idea I hope it brings more players to Davison and CW. Keep up the good work!
