Battletech is a Combat Simulator...........MW:O is Call of Duty with giant (can't call them Robots because they aren't automatons) skins.
I can stand the rest of your opinions, but this I cannot stand by.
Being piloted by a human doesn't make something any less of a robot because:
A ) The pilot is not doing everything themselves- they just interact with controls that cause the Battlemech to do certain actions utilizing a wide variety of built in technology.
B ) The battlemech has many automated processes contained within it that you seem to have missed, many of which you watch occur constantly within your own cockpit:
1) Reloading ballistic/missile weapons is an automated process
2) Shutting down automatically when a certain heat threshold is reached
3) Acquiring targets (that you haven't targeted) by communicating with other friendly battlemechs, and by extension running IFF software and the scanner hardware.
There are way more reasons that I could explain as to why a Battlemech is an extremely advanced robot, but these should suffice.
I would've even ignored this comment, except that I drive robots in real life and seeing this level of ignorance pains me and makes me unreasonably angry.
They have a human pilot(Like battlemechs), and yet anyone who understood technology that saw them would recognize them as robots. So why do Battlemechs, who have even more robotic traits then the robots I have the pleasure of piloting, not qualify as robots? (honest question here)
BTW In case anyone is curious what kind of robots I drive- check out FIRST and FRC
