As the title says, if we are forced to have this then can we put in a search feature. Type in a few letters and it searches all mechs for the item.

Kinda like

"Seis" will bring up all mechs that have the seismic module equipped?

Thoughts

module manager.......like a where the hell are my modules button? Strip all modules from all mechs button. How bout a profile section where it automaticly strips and adds modules based on the profile set to your mech. so like if you got one "target gather info" you can set up multiple mechs with target gather info and the module automaticly unequips after match and automaticly equips when mech needs it.

Or accept it as pay to win features. You can buy cbills at the store........if i'm rich billionaire....clickity click all my mechs have modules, clickity click convert like 700000 reg mech xp to gxp. clickity click buy computer that runs the game higher then 9 frames per second. Clickity click I got more powerful MC versions of consumables.

Fair Fight? I don't even know what that is.

Town Hall meeting summary from January said new UI "before the Steam release" - whatever that translates into...but yeah, current find-the-module minigame sucks.

Until then, I'd rather roll back to the old UI.

In the inventory screens for weapons, equipment, and modules, what we need is a toggle to switch between available inventory and equipped inventory. When set to available inventory, we get what we have now. When set to equipped inventory, we see a list of all items in that category equipped on mechs, with no ability to sell it. Instead, when hovering or clicking the item, we see a list of mechs that have that item equipped.

For instance, if I hover over AC/20 with equipped inventory toggled, I see my Yen-lo Wang, JM6-S, Atlas D-DC, Atlas-D, and King Crab listed. Letting me know where I have AC/20s equipped. Same thing for equipment (engines, targeting computers, etc) and modules (mech, weapon, and consumables).

Bonus if they add the ability to remove the item from that screen as well.

I can only imagine a player with 100 mechs trying to find a mod......

Home, mechbay, CN9A, configure, modules, nope, home, mechbay, scroll.....umm......WVR7, configure, modules, look, nope, home, mechbay, MDD-P, configure, modules, nope, home.......and this for now 97 more mechs until you happen to stumble across your module....your mouse would be dead by the time you got done clicking. This is 2015, I thought only Diablo should have had the nickname of "Click-ablo".....one would have thought by 2015 we could have convenient UIs and stuff...ones that cut the clicks by about 80%...

Steam release before December 31st. Saying UI will be out before Steam release basically means... before December 30th. Or rather, who knows. I also expect it won't be one massive, final update to the UI. They'll add some features, fix some of the unnecessary clicking, everyone will be rather underwhelmed and PGI will say they're not done working on the UI and that it's still being improved.

While I agree the UI needs tweaking, it's not hard to keep a searchable .xls inventory on your desktop.

Pro tip:

1) Go to the Home > Inventory > Battlemechs screen
2) Click on a mech
3) Popup lists first 5 modules, remember any with a full module list
4) Repeat step 2 and 3 until module found or out of mechs
5) If module not found, do as you described for all non-sellable mechs (Founder's, Phoenix and Invasion variants) and mechs that had full module lists.

Is it a great way to do it? No. Does it narrow down the number of mechs you need to go into within the mechlab? Yes.

If they are shooting for Dec 30th 2015, they have a TON of work to do and little time to do it in.

You know, that's precisely what I'm doing most of the time when "playing". Got 128 mechs currently and sometimes it's just so infuriating to find some piece of equipment that I just log out and don't touch the game for a few days...

What I would like is if they allowed the option in settings to change between UI 1.0 and UI 2.0 Problem solved, right?

LOL, would it even be worth it tocode the button? Or should PGI just revert to UI 1.0 and improve from there?

Outside of being neater looking, UI 2.0 sucks big Stalker torso....

No ....Modules are a Cbill/Mc Sink in PGis eyes, they want you to buy a complete set of modules for every Mech you have.Save Configs. or locate module options are detrimental to that goal

Core game functionality, balancing, and especially User Interfaces are on the back burner when they need to keep their lights on... and patches don't pay the bills, friend.

Urbanmechs, Resistance Packs, and New Clan mechs do... so yeah... priorities. So long as people play the game in it's state, why take the time? Besides, there's another whole year ahead of us.

Well, heres the case and point of that, sure you might get people to buy the pieces for awhile, but once players have them and they have seen the game, they dont like it, advise friends not to play. new players come in, get blown to bits, and quit, having spent 0 on the game, others see how inconvenient the UI is, how slow the grind it, how tedious and overall boring the gameplay is, how CW hasnt developed and in the end, we are left with the same ol' people who eventually quit from boredom or a lack of players to even play with...and thegame dies...

So, why take time to polish your game and improve other non money things? well.....it gets people to play....you can only throw new mechs at players for so long before they see through the joke and realize new mechs are the cover up to the real issues....
