PGI never did use the Wave 3 badges I made for them. :(

Maybe you can use one of these?

Custom badges would be pretty neat, even if just for the forums. I for one welcome our new Clan Tree Sheep overlords.

I also want my Clan Ghost Pedobear badge.

so i didnt buy any mechpacks, some of them cost more than my entire annual games budget. i did buy stuff though, mc packages here and there when i had a few bucks left over after bills. looking at my purchase history i have spent around $70 on mc which when put together is more than i would spend on an arena shooter (let alone a minimally viable one).

any chance on a badge that shows i did my part in funding the game. i hate being called a freeloader by some whale with all the badges. it doesn't have to be fancy it can be the most boring badge in the game. in fact mc purchasers seem to have gotten the shaft as far as loyalty rewards go as well. It would be nice if there was a little customer appreciation for the little people.

Only badges that I recognize or take note of are founders badges. I am not opposed to them giving you a badge. It doesn't mean anything to me but if it means something to you, I don't see the harm but do see the benefit. You should be treated as a valued customer having supported the game in your own way. I don't think you're using the proper channels to get one however. You're posting on the forum for an audience to read. Better would be to ask customer support under general or account inquiries. They might be nice and give you one.

Well I do agree. Someone who spends $1 on this game has already spent infinitely more than someone who has spent $0. A small badge or title for that first gift store or MC purchase can't be too bad, though perhaps they can set it to a minimum amount that isn't too steep.

It can be as simple as a "Supporter" badge/title, but maybe something more creative will work better.

If you play the game and contribute positively to the community (i.e., be courteous to others and don't be a jackass), then you're helping out. Any trashtalkers about "freeloaders" are probably the grumpy guys who continue to profess how they hate MWO and all it stands for, but can't find time for anything else but to sit around on the MWO forums and follow every new development.

It's kind of how I consider people's professional choices. I don't care if you're the infantry grunt pouring blood, sweat, and tears into the dirt to keep the rest of us from having to carry a rifle or if you are a part time fry cook at a hole in the wall food joint. If you are working to support yourself, doing what you can to help your neighbors, and showing courtesy and respect to your fellow human beings, you are doing your part and being honorable. Talk to everyone like they are someone, and don't ever look down on someone who puts in an honest day's labor.

To that end, yes, I'd like to see some badges for people who are contributors. Purchasing MC should net you something, but being a decent human being should be more notable. There are a lot of people on here, without whom this forum would be a cesspool with nothing interesting or constructive. I'd like them to know we appreciate their efforts.

nobody gets what they pay for in this game, lol.

I always enjoy the time when a mech first rolls out and hasnt been nerfed. Like when the Timberwolf and Direwolf came out. Or when I used to run around smoking fools with my (F)atlas. Just waiting for the Arctic Cheetah and Shadow Cat to come out.

I have so many badges I'd need ribbons to display them all.

Hey, that's not a bad idea, actually. Sort of along the lines of this hilarious and magnificent thread:

Even if PGI grants the part-time contributors a badge, it still won't compare to the Legendary Founder badge that myself and many others have. You know, the one that means our opinions and discussions mean much more than anyone else's because we've been here longer than the rest of you. :P

btw, isn't it a kind of discrimination that freeloaders don't have a freeloader badge to distinguish themselves and to emphasize their original self-identification?

When Napoleon needed to reward soldiers who were loyal and good fighters, he would raise their pay. When he ran out of money, he would grant them titles.

PGI does the same thing. You give them money, they give you a sign that makes you feel special. They litterally reward you for paying money to be a beta tester with a few extra pixels of color that mean apsolutely nothing other than at some point in your life, you were rich or had no life.

So now you get to brag about spending your money. Might as well roll up in a ferarri or with a diamond-encrusted gold watch.

Still don't mean that I won't shoot you in the face with an AC20 and laugh at you when you roll over in a smoking heap.

Trust me.. you don't need a thank you from PGI for spending money. What you need is for them to stop nerfing and hot-fixing your favourite mechs..

I was accused of not supporting the game and being a liar when I said i did. I finally put one of the badges on my profile.

Really didn't care about the stupid things up to that point. Still really don't care. The Herd consumers do though.

People bragging/gloating about accumulating badges-of-shame are probably turbodouches anyways.

I say this as somebody who has a large collection of such badges...

I guess a generic financial supporter badge would be alright to have. Maybe call it the "Patron" badge or whatever. The logo would probably be like the MC logo to keep it simple.

I even hid my founders tags. I was so ashamed to tell my IRL friends I caved and bought wave 3.... I just love awkward assaults... and the EXE... and I love the shadow cat... ****... DONT GIVE PGI MONEY! not till they make this game look as good as it did in CB! I have a mech addiction, so I can't help myself. Hell I even spent like $40 on Hawken during its height. If only we could have Hawken's art quality(not style) with MWO's controls and gameplay... but YEAH! mech addicts are {Richard Cameron}

I'd be fine with this being a thing.
Having it tied to an ingame achievement to provide it shouldn't be hard.
