TBR-S "White Wolf" (2-C-ER MED Lasers, 1ER-Large Laser, 2 C-SRM6/Artemis,2 C-SRM4/Artemis)

Good versatile build. Not a brawler but enough for sustained damage at all ranges. 20 heat sinks, 4 tons of srm ammo, good armor.

2 LPL
2 SRM6
2.5 tons of Ammo
Lots of heatsinks

Easy to use and new player friendly - heat forgiving, 2 weapon systems, good at long and short range - good way to introduce players to the game.

Can we have a list of future Timberwolf nerfs so we can submit a build that may be viable beyond another couple weeks?

Now ,knowing meta builds are great and the best builds out there. If one of these mechs is chosen for a champion/ trail mech, shouldn't it give a new player a good look ALL of the weapon categories that are available? When they are ready to purchase their own mechs then they can say "I liked the laser aspect of the mech , I wonder if it would be good with a more energy focused build , hence the incentive to buy a timber wolf and tailor it to their OWN play style or preferred type of weaponry on the mech.

Look, the objective isn't go give the player a tutorial on all the weapon groups, it's to give the player something they can work with. By giving them a jack-of-all-trades build, you're screwing up their new player experience by throwing a wrench in their ability to win. They're already new, the last thing they need is someone handing them a mech that has no role, is good at no range, and confuses them by asking them to learn too many mechanics at once.

Designed to be well armed and armored and to fit into the meta. Great cooling performance and designed to be able to use the gauss side as a shield once you run low on/out of ammo. Only 2 weapon groups, simple for new players. Added ease of use if you remove the lower arm actuators or toggle arm lock. (3 weapon groups if you fire the 3 torso-mounted ER Mediums separately from the 2 ER Mediums on the left arm.)

Head:
Prime omnipod // 18 armor
Center Torso:
Prime omnipod // 88 front armor // 4 rear armor // 1 ton Gauss ammo
Right Torso:
Prime omnipod // 60 front armor // 4 rear armor // 1 Gauss Rifle // 1 ton Gauss ammo
Right Arm:
C omnipod // 35 armor // 4 double heat sinks // lower arm actuator
Left Torso:
A omnipod // 60 front armor // 4 rear armor // 3 ER Medium Lasers // 2 double heat sinks
Left Arm:
Prime omnipod // 48 armor // 2 ER Medium Lasers // 3 double heat sinks // lower arm actuator
Right Leg:
Prime omnipod // 60 armor
Left Leg:
Prime omnipod // 60 armor

TBR-S "The MoneyMaker"

This build has worked well for me. Once the LRMs are done, 5 ERMLaser on a fresh mech has turned the tide more than once.
Or drop the 5th ERML for another ton of AMMO for the "A" variant.
The Use of Cooldown Modules for the LRM's and MLasers makes a difference.
I use cooldown and range mods for the LRM's.

The ONE drawback is CLAN CASE not working. A crit in one arm can destroy all 4 launchers, 2 lasers and all the Ammo. THIS IS COUNTERED BY Firing all LRM's before entering with Lasers.
The HEAT is set to run very well Firing EITHER LRM's or MLasers NOT BOTH.
.
The build is so successfull and profitable for me that I run it most of the time.

Allround Mobile Timber with nasty scout suprise

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d7d12299242273f

25.6 jump ..a realy helpfull and fun thing for citymaps and canyon maybe moonbase

4 med pulse with 330 optimal you can get nearly 400 with skills and upgrade module

2 lrm 10 for the standoff campfest ...with target decay modul you get them into the target even with supid pug groups...dont forget clan lrms have no min range ..so if enemy comes around corner ..give it to him

2 Streak SRM 6 picked off quite a few nasty light mechs with them ...pumas and firestarters and such ....

Clan Active probe mostly for faster lockon higher bonus than target comp 1

2 tons lrm ammo 1 ton streak srm .. i see the streaks as help against lights we all know the hit detection isnt the best.. maybe as assist at hard head ons
of cause you can change it to 1 ton lrm thats still 9 salvos and 2 ton streaks

you dont want to go brawl with this mech at start of fight ..use your lrms and the jumpjets to get on good positions and shoot the unaware enemy in flank and ass

streaks also favor jumpjets cause you can shoot down from building hill or wall even if ya cant get enemy on target for torso ..just get the lock with arms the streaks will hit

also works when the targets stands abouve you

realy funn build just dont go in like an atlas or direwolf..

TBR-Pryde

A timberwolf originally piloted by Star Colonel Aidan Pryde that is inspired from both the Timberwolf Prime and S stock configurations I made the D the stock base configeration mech as this is the less common chassis in the timberwolf meaning more people will buy this champion or work for it in events, Bit better then the stock timberwolfs at least and does have a glimmer of pizzaz for being a lore build.

This is cool, finally someone finally making a mech based on Battletech lore. This is the way Champion and Hero mechs should be made.

TBR-B or TBR-Brawler. Main punch comes from the 4 SSRM4s. The ERPPC and UAC5 provide adequate punch at range that can also supplement the streaks in close. Plenty of ammo to run and gun for a good while too.

I was going to suggest someone do this... ALthough maybe Aiden Pryde should be kept in reserve for the hero TW when it ever comes out...

It would be a cool hero but it can be done stock wise and even the stock build has many similarities to the Prime and the S.

Aiden Pryde main mech IS the Summoner however. Which I think would be better suited for him (even though his final battle was in the timberwolf, however if his summoner was never destroyed, he would have been in his summoner)

Bounty Hunter however is a cool timberwolf, however it has LOTS of room for meta abuse being the fact it's stock build is 2 large pulse, 4 medium pulse, a (light) tag, and a targeting computer and light BAP (remove the BAP, lower the targeting computer, and increase TAG to a normal one, then you got it fitting for MW: O, PS hte large pulse is in the arms)

This would be a bad choice as well.

A Solaris VII Timberwolf that isn't strictly lore friendly but isn't fannon or non cannon either has 6 Machine guns (arms) and 2 ER PPC's (torso). An interesting little bugger but it isn't strictly lore friendly.

Timberwolf pryde is the best bet for a lore mech: however I suggest PGI to try the more unique or interesting builds to the mech before going for these ones.

Even things like the Solaris Shadowcat with a UAC 10 and ER large laser... no new hardpoints for the shadowcat but due to the weapons in use it would provide unique quirks... Timberwolf Pryde will have ER large laser, LRM, or medium lasers for the lines of quirks which the prime and C and S all have possibilities for...

I kinda want the Direwolf to be the first hero...

6 x UAC 2, 1 x Gauss...
or
6 x UAC 5 (3 in each torso)
or
1 x UAC 20 (high mount), 2 x ER PPC, 2 x Large pulse, 3 x ER medium, 1 x ER small
or
1 x UAC 20 (high mount), 2 x LRM 20, 2 x Large pulse, 3 x ER medium, 1 x ER small
or
2 x LBX 10, 2 x SSRM 6 (arms), 1 x LRM 15 (CT I think it was?)...

So many choices...

This mech can make it tough quick from a distance, as well it being quite the mobile variant. Just take some cool shots or keep your heat management under control and he's a beast!
