They are horrible at first. Once you get out of the basic skill tree, things start to turn around. Also, when the D omnipods are available for all variants, I will retire the Gargoyle to an assisted living community where he can live out his years in medicated bliss.

It's like the victor in that way. When the VTR came out everyone hated it - then it got elite and suddenly you're cashing in on that mobility and armor and firepower (for the mobility and armor level) before all its nerfs and BOOM. It was doing the poptart pimp-walk all over everyones face.

However mobility is only an advantage if you have the skillz to exploit it so YMMV.
