Can anyone point me to a good build for the STALKER 3F?

You can laser pretty much all the variants.

Fast STK-3F

Slow STK-3F

STK-3F is hot, but careful fire discipline makes it punch incredibly hard. The energy heat generation quirk will help a bit with that. You can also straight-swap the SRM4s and ammo to LRM5s and ammo, if you prefer.

You could try this build if you want to go for the trading game.

^ 305 STD? Please replace with 300 STD and add either BAP or AMS. The 305-315 are very non-ideal engines.

BAP would be pointless and you cant load AMS without compromising heat efficiency. With the extra speed you can poke in and out and relocate more effectively anyway.

Probably not everyone else ideal of a good mech, but it's served me very well so far. It set up for multirange engagements. The trick is, don't stand back and just LRM. Preferably, you want to protect another mech.

Why are you doing a 4 laser build with a 3f, if you are that worried about heat efficiency... the 3F shines with missiles, not energy.. I know some don't like LRM 10's but they actually work well on this stalker, with a pair of 4's,, Or just go full on quad 4's with energy..

BAP is far from pointless, with the amount of ECM out their, being able to cancel it is huge, even if it is just so you can gather target info, Or even the increase range component. I wish more people would shave 1.5 tons for such a helpful tool.. See an open whole, kill a mech in one shot or two, instead of blindly wondering where the open spot is, and then you are far better off in your heat management, than what a single double heat sink is going to do.

the 4LL is a 4 DPS assault,, add SRM's and you boost to 6-7.. that is a HUGE difference,.. Like i said, you wan't 4 LL's, Run the N, there is zero reason to do it in a 3F.

Here's my baby:

STK-3F

Max STD engine, 4 LPLs, AMS, max armor.

General rules for Stalkers: never run an XL, try to face the enemy, hill-hump.

Heat for this one - don't fire off all four at once, group them into left and right side, be wary of your heat, drop in an LPL range module. Call it good.

Twist is for brawling.. Not LL's :D

You should have no trouble twisting at range in a 4N, Just park at a slight angle,, that also helps with popping up over a ridge, and getting out of LRM fires way.. You should NEVER be peaking by going strait up..

I brawl in a misery, it is my lowest twist mech, one of my highest KDR brawlers, so take it for what it's worth.. I'd give up the twist for the Quirk any day, and this coming from a guy, that plays many mechs with 120 and even 125, i have a couple 90's, and 110's too, but really lots are great twist, i really don't notice it much to be honest, ya just end up using the arrow keys a big more is all.

LRM based http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a5d63529695d1ec
Ranged mech, with some upclose back up

SRM based http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7f88c65d758fb26
Brawler, with some LR support.. Runs a bit hot, but when in brawl, you stop using the LL's and you are right at the 40% mark, which isn't to bad. You can also move 2 of the ML's in, if having weapons after you loose an arm is more important to you than the up and down movement.. (honestly i would suggest that, anyway, group arms, for missiles, and energy as seperate, than a complete full energy, and full SRM group.. Try firing SRM's in chain.. 4 rapid clicks, you can fire off all of them very fast, and get tighter grouping than a large salvo group.

That kinda reminds me of my C4, I run dual LRM20's, with a pair of ML's and streaks with BAP, Range module, and anti-decay, with ML range, and LRM20 refire.. great fun, get in and LRM brawl!

All stalkers shine with lasers/energy bro; its all about dem hard point locations. Best poker in the game. They are not a good missile platform; regardless of quirks. And missiles suck now anyway. Lasers all day. I have a 13+ k/d with the 3F using that build and quad ppc. You shouldnt need BAP to know where to shoot a mech and the extra speed helps survivability.
