Nah, instead of auctioning, just give them away as event prize. Call the event, "Brian Cache Discovery", or something.

Suppose someone found an old Star League cache full of mechs, weapons, camos, and mechbays. :D

LoL! An event based on actual events in Battletech lore? That's ridiculous!

No, let's stick with events based on Halloween, summer holidays, St. Patricks Day and Thanksgiving. They shouldn't let the timeline matter at all, except as a rough guide to which mechs they should put in their next mech pack.

Yep, I agree, they should just give them away to all the players that are not cheaters that have had to endure the cheaters in game. Its win win for all.... I just hope there are some very nice Gold mechs in those accounts! I know, I am evil sometimes!

PGI could even go as far to program a tag/badge in there to show up with the "cheaters name" in game just like Ace of spades, or any other badge. They could make it say Impounded for cheating from "name of cheater" etc. etc. and that way if the banned players do show back up under a new account name in game, they can see their mechs being put to good use by non cheaters, as a further reminder, Don't cheat in game or else!

Damn Winter, that burned.

Spot on though. PGI talked big game about (everything) loving battletech but they dont seem to care about working fuff into MWO at all. Our first Hero was the Yen-Lo. After that.... we got what.. 3 canon heroes? Events... yah you nailed that one.

As fun as it may sound, I believe it's best to just leave those alone and forget about them.

How ironic if a known cheater won the auction and got their stuff back. It would be like someone could just pay to avoid any punishment for cheating. Why not cut out the middle man and have PGI offer a Cheat-time package (similar to premium time) where you pay to turn off the cheat detection software.

I think if they gave away bits and pieces of the cheaters accounts to all... it would solve your first concern. ;)
