Short as possible, here goes:

Nova has forced max JJs.

And in my opinion, they are some of the best JJs in the game. Pound for pound. I like the Griffin's JJ's as well.

But, it would be really nice if the mech wasn't forced max.

Cuz without Endo Steeling it or Ferro Fibrous, that's the only way that some builds would be able to really have the tonnage they need, by removing a couple JJs for a tiny bit more tonnage.

Just sayin.

It can't be Endo or Ferro cuz then how are you gonna be able to run and cooldown some of the more Prime-ish builds. Crit slots. So this is prolly the only way to give the Nova that lil bit of tonnage that it's starved for.

I'm not crusadin or anything... just sayin.

Max JJs on only the TBR...the rest should be able to move some tonnage.

Fun fact about the Nova.
Add Endo, and following TT rules, upgrade to a 300XL engine.

Guess what it costs?



3 crit slots and a half ton of pod space; bringing it from 15.5 (half ton missing stock) to an even 15 tons. With the free 2.5 IS+A from quirks, that means less, but before stripping or leaving your build a half ton empty was a decision you had to make.

With the 300XL, half of the hardwired sinks fit in there, so you save 4 slots, bringing the Endo cost to 3.


Naturally, that's never going to happen...but some of the Clam robots are just so inefficient and terribly built. This one could run 107 with 5 JJs, barely taking a hit. Remove LAAs and you lose a single crit slot.

I kinda like it how it is. There are builds that use every crit slot up. Only when you try to be a Stormcrow does the locked JJ/No Endo situation get annoying.

I was thinking this just the other day ...

omnis with fixed JJs should have the half of those JJs unfixed. Just half. I'm totally cool with fixed JJs, but too much of a good thing adds up to a limiting factor.

If it were one or the other, no one would take FF though.

And I agree, you should be able to take off up to two JJs. Have the rest unmovable.

It's supposed to be a balancing factor so the Clans aren't straight-up better than the IS.

It's kinda not working though, but that's PGI balance in a nutshell, isn't it.

You need all JJs for the ERPPC Nova. Anything Endo accomplishes in that build can be accomplished by reducing the heat of ERPPCs through quirks. There's no need for shenanigans with unlocking Endo or JJs.
