I have noticed 2 trends this weekend and I have made video of both, unfortunately my upload speeds are very low and I only had the chance to post 1 vid so far. The first issue is about people accusing others of cheating, threatening to report them to PGI and being pretty disrespectful about it. The second issue is a rash of team killers running around taking out their own team. I am currently uploading a video where a DireWolf makes it his game plan to kill off as many of his team mates as possible, starting with me.

Due to PGI's "name and shame" policies, I will not be linking the videos here. Instead I uploaded them to my Youtube Page, 923Random or search Malieus in youtube and you'll find me.

The "accused of cheating" video shows me taking out an Ebon Jaguar with a well placed alpha of 2x gauss and 2x mlas. The EBJ was standing perfectly still so I had a great shot. Right after he dies, the EBJ starts saying he is reporting met PGI because its impossible for little ol me to kill big mighty him with 1 alpha. The guy had tunnel vision so hard that he DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE 3 OTHER MECHs that were hitting him at the same time. My video clearly shows this, I just happened to get credited for the kill. I assume this happens a lot more often than people want to believe. It's hard to see everything in the heat of battle. If you died to a "1 shot" there is probably a pretty good chance that someone else was hitting you that you didn't even see. Lets face it, no one here is soooo good that they see absolutely every mech at every angle that might be able to damage them. Check your egos People before reporting for no reason.

The "Killed by a TeamKiller" video (uploading now, will be ready in 30 mins) just shows a team mate in a DireWolf hunting me down. He shoots my back first, I return fire but mostly decide to run from him and rejoin our team since we were separated. He slowly caught up and proceeded to take me out while in a firefight with enemies. He killed at least 1 other team mate as well. Bored kids like this need to go play something else. Will PGI do anything if I report him with video?

It is explaned by glitch that hiding incoming laser beams on screen in zoomed cockpit. Sometimes it looks like one-shot death.
Sometimes it is hit registration glitch when armor disappeared in silence and without red markers on screen.

You were accused because of your e-peen "Headshots galore" Comment.

Calling attention to yourself created that . Of course narcissists never understand these simple things.

Would be nice to have a kill cam that shows how you get killed and by how many. When it shows the what/who killed you screen it does not last long enough and no way that I know of to go back to it if you want.

Recently I did (supposedly) 2 headshots on a pilot with 2 different ravens with my dual gauss dire.
Immedate reaction was "reported for aimbot using".
If those kills were really headshots I can understand the fuss, but if it was just getting killed too quickly people should realize that a mildly damaged raved with XL will go down by a dual-gauss hit on the side torso instantaniously as well.

Some people believe they were raised to be Mechwarrior Gods, and Gods cannot be killed. Ergo, you killing them means you cheated.

It still doesn't make him guilty.

OP

Look, I'll give you the short version:

If you didn't cheat, you won't get banned, even if you are reported by the entire enemy team. PGI has access to the telemetry data from every match on their servers. So when they comb through it, and check your match, they'll see the whole truth. If you didn't cheat, you're fine.

Myself, and actually quite a lot of people have been accused of cheating because we landed a difficult shot, or the opponent was too dumb to know what was going on.

Especially with those huge Side Torsos.

Doesn't make him guilty of course. Only PGI can convict.

But if you ask for trouble it will follow you. Snide remarks about headshots galore just opens the door for accusations.

Still linking to a vid showing player names is name and shame. Problem is only the OP is shamed for being a ........

PGI should really create a "Falsely Accused" achievement, plus an appropriate badge "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" (or vice versa). :D

Actually in game it's wartime so you would be under Admiralty law. That is guilty until proven innocent.

lol, whatever MudHut. I already said in my video description that I purposely goaded the enemy by saying "headshots galore" hoping to draw them into more mistakes. I also said that I wasn't even sure where I had hit them, I was just goading them, nothing more. In my opinion, based on his reactions and the reaction time of his comments, he had decided I was cheating before I made my snide comment.

i hope you realize that blaming you in cheating isn't different from your 'goading enemy'? both of those are a kind of flaming, but it doesn't really violate the rules, at least by much. your thread is ridiculous

And MUdHut, the way you insult people you don't even know shows your intelligence and maturity levels. Keyboard tough guy hey? So far you have called me a narcissist and a fool....uncalled for insults from the small minded.
Yes I said "whatever" then I went on to explain myself. Not like I said "whatever" like its an argument winning response so don't reduce the value of the rest of the text thinking you are winning people over.
And Bad Kitty, no it isn't the same. One is just talking in chat. The other is reporting a player to a review board because you are butthurt you got killed, wasting the time, money and energy of other people.

you only fall under that assuming your side lost, his side won, :)

dont feel bad Malieus,
ive been playing MWO since CB, never been accused of Cheating,
so i decided to Join a Clan a month or so ago,(-SA-) fun Guys to Run with,
since joining ive been accused of Aim-Boting alot,(my K/D is maybe 0.2),
its just an unfortunate side effect of having Cheating made public, :)
