The low graphics bug, Synch drops and out and out cheaters make solo what it is. I think PGI is getting a bad rap for what the population has done to the game.

The standard of play flies out the window then.

Stomped the other team in minutes flat with precision concentrated fire on each target.
Pugs don't do that. Its always chaos in the beginning as everyone gets their bearings or chat and or voip gets chatter then the team coalesces into a unit. Even on the best pugs teams concentrated fire is hit or miss unless targets are called.
Solo's can't learn fro the experience because they haven't a clue to whats happened or what they witnessed. Then they come here and some liar tells them no one synchs into solo and to get better.
Sorry its the exploiters destroying the game, not PGI. This is a simple truth, One no exploiter wants you to understand.

The full 12 random pool of guys is just awesome.
I can't count enough of times where you get NASCAR'd or just get left alone. We have alot of other factors as well.
But ELO is doing fine --> It's actually working,
It's the pilots of the Community who sucks. It's the randomness of 12 guys thrown in a pool who does the trick at sucking.
4vs4 and 8vs8 was much better at trying to be magic and get some teamwork going. I miss those matches.
At 12 man the pool is so large that no magic will happen. If it is, the chances of happening is small.
Dont believe me? I don't blame you but after all these years spending time on this game i know where i am talking about.
This is the only game i have been in so far how terribad the teamwork is. In general other games are much better. Sure it's a underlying problem, but you can't fix large pool of randomness.

It's not. The team is generally doing it to themselves. They dawdle around at start points, don't lock targets, don't focus people down, fire 2 shots and one guy and then shoot someone else for no apparent reason, people wander off, people don't support each other, no one pushes, people camp, etc. In short, the team just fails to play like a team. And it isn't because anyone in particular is bad. Hell, I've had matches today where I did under 100 damage and matches where I did 600+, all with the same mech. That and it's the weekend, people that don't play much (less experience and not enough c-bills to properly kit out a mech) are on.
Just focus on playing well and supporting your team mates and matches will get better.

I figure I'm bound now to have one of these every 10 matches or so. Me and 1-2 other guys who "try," and the others just die.

I just think it's hilarious that you choose to believe that there's a mass conspiracy of sync droppers trying to kill you, instead of facing the fact that you aren't nearly as good as you think you are.
And then you accuse others of thin skin because you'd rather lie to yourself than take an ego hit. The irony is strong in this one.

This is happening to me all the time. Sometimes MVP dmg/kill wise but still a 3:12 loss.

Never said mass conspiracy so stop using prowords to make a failed argument.
I said the issue is we have a large population of people using exploits or bending the rules as far as they can to outgun others.
That's pretty prevalent in society in general in business, government or day to day life. It's condoned and accepted. Today your average citizen commits three felonies each day known or unknown to them.
Doesn't make it right though.
Saying it doesn't occur at or near the same ratio in the game in regards to general statistics is ludicrous. Do you think gamers in general fall outside the scope of society in general? I would say maybe more so because the line of fantasy over reality is crossed. That's an opinion though and the rest is fact.
Maybe you should read more rather than play.
To say it doesn't happen is just ludicrous at best.

You'll unfortunately learn to live with the bad matchups. I kind of cursed myself at the end of last year by going super-hardcore into the game, running meta-mechs (See: Any decent clan mech that laser vomits) and dropping with talented units. It drove my Win/Lose far above 2:1 and has been ******* me ever since.
Now I just try to have fun in the game with random mechs and dumb builds. I think I'm enjoying things more now that I'm at peace with not winnning very often. Fun > Winning any day.
