Chromehounds takes place in an alternative modern world where in the year 2006, long after the fall of the Soviet Union, the former Soviet republics duke it out for control for regions around the Black Sea. This was called the Neroimus War.

I fought with a squad affliated with the Morskoj faction, which is pro Soviet and seeks the restoration of the Soviet Union. We fight the other factions, Tarakia, heavily supported by NATO, and Sal Kar, which seeks the restoration of the Ottoman Caliphate.

Once in a while, invading enemy forces gets to encounter the Morskoj secret weapon.

True. The artist is Polish. As I understand, Soviet Mechs play role of "bad guys" in his pictures. Maybe Im wrong.

jj

This artist, Kow Yokoyama, is just plain awesome. Maschinen Krieger as a franchise currently exists only in light novels, along with a series of toys, models, and sculptures. Someone needs to make this into a living game.
