What are we even doing here on these forums.
Russ has made it publicly known that neither he, nor any key senior member with PGI will be interacting with any of us here on the forums on any level what so ever concerning anything to do with gameplay or its mechanics.
Any concerns or ideas we have, we have to go elsewhere to convey our thoughts.
So all that is left here in the forums are forum moderators who are just here to police and make sure we're not trolling too hard amongst ourselves, or talking down about staff and making a stink.
They're not going to relay anything of importance back to the Lead staff, unless it becomes a big enough stink to matter to these Moderators.
All of the daily thoughts and ideas concerning the gameplay, mechs, balance, all of it, we may as well not even discuss here, because its going to go nowhere and be lost in the void which this forum has become.
I have to say, this is quite frustrating.
So all these little debates we have here, the good and bad, balance discussions, all of the emotional attachment and E-Penis swinging you guys do, means absolutely nothing.
So I have to ask, why are we here discussing, fighting and arguing amongst ourselves here at all.
Is it just out of boredom?
Or do any of you, including myself actually believe any success, influence, or satisfaction can be achieved from anything we do here from now on?
And this isn't just a question to the playerbase here, how do you moderators feel about this as well?
Flameshield activate! so flame on.

Twitter's also a lot less work for them I imagine. Easier for a developer that's constantly busy and on the go. It's not that hard to follow OutreachHPG to keep up with the more interesting tweets.

I've found the forums to be a far less civil place than they were last year. Fewer discussions take place, and more disruptive users troll about.
Boredom's probably the best reason.

We're a pretty small group. Are there any other MechWarrior forums? I know there used to be some a couple years back, but they are mostly defunct now.

When people talk about how the players have had an impact, because someone once started a thread with a suggestion that made it into the game, it's like watching those lottery commercials where they show you someone else that won the lottery. When you see someone else who won, it makes it feel more likely that you can win, and it makes you forget about the actual numbers involved. If you want to have an impact these days, you have to use Twitter. And even then, I wonder how long before Russ gets tired of Twitter, because people are being rude to him every day.
I just do it for fun. And sometime I'll recognise someone in-game from the forum, or they'll recognise me and we'll write "o7" or something. Unless they're someone I dislike from the forum, in which case I'll make a point of killing them. And if they kill me first, I'll rage-quit.

General rule of thumb when it comes to hip hop, is the more something sounds really badass, the more likely it is a sample. I would know, I'm a sampling fiend. Furthermore, when Changes was made by TuPac in mid 90s, that time period was sorta the final hurrah of sampling in the mainstream. These days modern mainstream 'rap' contains little to no samples cuz clearing the licensing for them has become too expensive for most commercial artists unless it's something extremely obscure and thus not costly. This is one of the main reasons modern mainstream rap sucks hard.
I really like this documentary I would recommend it to anyone interested at all in modern music production, sampling, DJing, or music copyright laws. Always go to the root!

For PGI's intents and purposes, this forum is an echo-chamber which exists to deflect feedback/complaints away from PGI's email inboxes. This is the purpose of all forums for all games across the Internets.
From the viewpoint of a Forumwarrior, we make chronic shitposts because we have an "itch" for it. We've picked up a habit, or rather an addiction, in which we feel a sense of temporary relief when we use this board as an outlet. We feel as though our shitass opinions are worth more than the pixels that they are comprised of, and we like to cry on each others' shoulders and form internet support groups about what we all wish this game could be like in Dreamlandia™. We're also, quite frankly, just batshit insane, and want to watch the

I know if I had to deal with us, i'd stop dealing with us. It's impossible to make any type of MWO thread without some form of argument.

Russ has stated in the past these exact reasons for relying on twitter.

I used to play City of Heroes. On those boards, there were the "forum celebrities" that had the devs ears, and to a point, were seen as above and beyond the average poster.
I used to feed them. See, I didn't care HOW my desires got into the game, so long as they made it there. I certainly am not needy enough to want after some kind of popularity on a video game forum. I have a wife and kids and friends etc, I don;t need social support from people with fake names on a board.
That said, there are some really delightful personalities on this board. Probably because of the age range we see from the IP, and the inner NERD!!s we are to enjoy it. I also find myself not actually needing to feed and "celebrities" here stuff to get it brought to the forefront, for the most part the regulars here are pretty normal people and have half an iota of logic and things get hashed out fairly well. maybe not the first go around, but some things people have to digest a while and keep on the back of thie rmind to observe for themselves before consensus happens.
Overall, this is one of the nicest communities I have been part of. It is too bad Russ and Paul and crew don;t come visit with us. I mean, I dunno, if I ran a game, and it had a forum, and I went there and people trolled me, i would just delete their posts. You know, because I run the game. Some **** spews out a bunch of illogical hate BS? NOPE. And move on.
I mean he gets it on Twitter anyway, so there isn;t that much difference. I think some of us(like me) don;t go to twitter, because, much like the IP, we are in favor of old school and it just feels appropriate to hav a game forum for communication purposes. I mean, it exists for and because of the game. So, it feels illogical to go to a general social media "thing" to talk about it, IMO. But then, I grew up when there was no internet so the 20 somethings and teeny bops prolly disagree.
