The question I would like to ask is: People aren't using all the tools that by default are already at their disposal?
I only see a player problem here, not a problem with UAVs.
(But then again I use a color-calibrated monitor that I set according to my very specialized needs.)
My setup is as stock as possibru.
No macros, no color calibration, no lead fishing weights stuffed inside a mouse to give it a better feeling of balance.

Why worry about them. They appear to be out of range. Why worry about UAVs that are out of range? They don't even show up on your radar. That's probably why you can't see them without themal.
You only should be concerned about a UAV if you see it on radar. As you should know, A UAV can be targeted by tapping the R key until it shows up.
Here we go. Trying to make something out of nothing.
Why can't we for once play this game without people looking for something to nerf?

According to smurfy, clan gauss rifles have a maximum range of 1,980 meters. I doubt those UAV's were out of my range. But unfortunately never got to find out as both of those UAV's keeled over from old age before I had a chance to shoot them down.
One key aspect of being a good team player is doing things to help your allies survive in the game to give yourself better overall odds of defeating your opponents and winning the game. Shooting down UAV's that might target those on your team is one key example of this.
I personally dislike the crowd of people whose sole motivation for posting is to influence the mechanics of the game. Nerfing jump jets on highlanders, victors and other mechs -- because some people in this game are inadequate to the task of dealing with jump sniping is something I opposed and continue to oppose to this day. It seems to me the qualify of this forum improved dramatically once PGI said they were no longer paying attention to the forums, and all of those people stopped posting.
That said, there is a significantly difference between fanatically wanting to nerf things due to petty personal reasons.
And, pointing out how some of the visual modes have quirks for the sole purpose of trying to influence a more high quality end product.
I think most of the "OMG THIS IS SO OP!!" overreactionaries are gone.
I honestly hate those people for ruining jump jets and in my opinion for ruining the game.
Please don't lump me in with them, I'm like the complete opposite of whatever they represent.
