I'll do this one better. The biggest "sport" in the USA is Nascar. Does anyone literally consider this a sport? The "gameplay" is mainly based on engineering and performance of the machine rather than the person.
That is not entirely true. While I agree there is marginally more skill required in other types of racing, there is still skill involved, and the driver does matter, that's why guys with identical setups don't always score identical laps.
People don't seem to realize that those guys heart rates average 140 bpm over the course of 3 hours straight. There is athleticism involved. A lot of the guys playing MWO would probably have heart attacks in that situation.
Everyone in the US who doesn't like NASCAR loves to bash it, but you gotta give some respect where it is due. The drivers are athletic and skilled, and some engineering plays into it as well, its the ultimate fusion of the jock and the math olympiad champ on one team.

Everything is upside down, We honor the Kardashians and Politicians while Science and Innovation take a back seat. That is the e-sports mentality. Something for nothing. No risk at all past carpal tunnel.
You e-sports clowns try something like this... One mistake here and your a grease spot. In e-sports you could lose a memory stick at the critical moment.
You do have a point, I would love to see the viewership of keeping up with the kardashians drop to 0. And politicians are all ******** that only really care about getting office. If you think any given politician really cares about you, I have news for you.. but hey yes we can
