The Executioner mech is like a gorilla, big chest and low arms. Not the best combination for a mech that still takes too much damage in the center torso. By the time you pop out or move about to take a shot your at least 45% exposed. I think the damage still needs to be spread out a little more and torso twisting with MASC doesn't help much either.

Thoughts?

Many people are saying masc helps immensely.. So what do you think then?

I really don't have any problems with my Koala... It's a surprisingly excellent mech, as terrible as it looks on paper.

I actually preferred thr hitboxes BEFORE they got fixed. I keep losing my MASC now, and that gets me killed FAST. Or I lose all my weapons as I stuffed them all on the right side. It was easier to guard the C torso than the side torsos are...

Sounds like the Atlas.

No hard feelings, eh?

I find the hitboxes changes helped a lot, and MASC's greatest use on the Executioner is how it allows you to shift directions extremely quickly, getting you back into cover absurdly fast.

My only complaints in fact are simply that the arm hard points are so much lower than the cockpit, I end up being unable to hit targets I can see a lot.

The Executioner can do a little hill humping with the torso lasers, but it is not the best at it. Probably better to do like the Gargoyle and stick to corner peeking. The hit boxes aren't fantastic, but for such a big mech they're not that bad. I'm not sure anything more can be done about the hit boxes without touching the geometry (not going to happen). MASC is pretty awesome. It can be used to peek faster, get back faster, or even bait shots before actually stepping out to trade.

Yeah, I've lost my MASC a few times since the change, and God that sucks. . But, fair is fair, and I'd sooner lose MASC (and probably the whole ST) than my CT.... If only barely.

Executioner is at least 10 gorillas.

The D's side torsos are mounted reasonably high, as are the ballistic side torsos (at least the first hardpoint on each, that is).

MASC is the ultimate brawling tool, and the ultimate corner peaking tool. Honestly its my new favorite item and I'd equip it to any mech I could. If your footwork is up to snuff the EXE is a monstrous mech.

Exe is DOA its that simple.

Max armour and masc and jump jets it's got less pods space than a gargoyle and we know how everyone loves the gargoyle now.

Huge CT, low slung arms, same gargoyle issues.

MASC didn't save the EXE is dead already, period.

Edit : Thought since it's got less pod space than an gargoyle, why would i use an EXE over a gargoyle as the gargoyle runs faster than a EXE does even when it's uses MASC

go figure

This Mech is horrible for me, I'm sure there are those that love it there always is. I sure am glad I didn't play it before the "improvements" because I would have been even more disappointed. For the first MASC equipped mech it is a total dud, I had a way easier time with the Gargoyle than this one. Too bad as they show it scaled against a Banshee in one of the videos and I wish the hit boxes would have been closer to that chassis then we may have gotten the mech we thought we were.

I've actually had an easier time with most of my Executioners than with my Ebon Jaguars. Maybe it's because I'm used to playing assault class skirmishers?

Gargoly has less armor, cant run 3 LPL's and cannot mount a Gauss in its ST up high and doesnt have JJ's

Nothing you presented make me think otherwise about this mech....its runs circles around my gargoyles.

The troves of people having fun in it using MASC and getting some insane games (13 Sm Pulse laser SEXE has put out some massive numbers and avg.s 700 dmg a game) seem to think otherwise about your comments.

Have you elited them? Do you own the SEXE-D? :P Those two things made massive changes in my opinion of the mech.

wut?

The mech you THOUGHT you were gonna get? So you thought this was going to be a power creep mech and dethrone the DWF or TBR?

Buyer remorse is what you are feeling....sorry bud. Maybe dont expect it to be the next meta mech because power creep isnt a constant in this game.

I wish someone would tell me what the secret play style is because this is the first mech I have backed away from leveling and stripped until a later date when it gets some tweaks or something.

Regarding this, the Atlas' arm-hardpoints actually sit higher:

Play it like a medium skirmisher. You just have a little less speed and a lot more leeway for mistakes due to the heavier armor.

The Executioner has more free tonnage than the Gargoyle. Not much more; about 5-6 tons.
