The Dire Wolf is very powerful, but it can fall just like an Atlas can. :)

mmmmmmm the daishi, an absolute fav, apart from the horrible easy cockpit death scenario. Man, with 55t of weapons, you can really can make it a true killer. Always preferred the Annihilator for some reason...think it was the 4 AC10's and laughing manically as everything fell over lots and died. Including many a daishi.

I tried dueling a friend in one of those once, it was to prove that a mech which was 200t wasn't necessarily a good thing. Absaloutely owned me (later I found out he had set his gunnery/piloting at 0 and 0 lmao, little cheat).

What is a Daishi?

An easy mode mech has a combat value of 8901 in primary config,

comparison Atlas AS7-D 5371 ...

In MW4 I loaded a dire wolf up with 6 LBX-20's (yes, six) - and chain-fired them constantly. If you timed it right it was a continual cycle of fire. It was hilarious making any mech torso twist until it fell over....ANY mech.

when you encounter one just aim for its arms first.. a third of his firepower is mounted in each arm.. a weakness most clanner mechs have. so a good tactic for fighting against clanner mechs is to destroy its arms first and then close in for the kill.. the super nova has all of his weapons ( 6 er large lasers ) mounted in his arms.. will be fun seeing one running arround with no arms left..

Daishi drivers were not mechwarriors, they were turret operators.

Clan = invades in 3050
MWO = takes place in 3049
game time = real time

Another name for it was Dire Wolf...one of my favs, used it whenever it was available. It could eat an Atlas for lunch.

i would rather be standing behind it thanks. The fastest way to a Daishi's heart is through its back armor. =P

Does anyone remeber the heavy mech called a Diashi ? God that thing could be loaded with awesome firepower. What's the history behind that mech and do you think it will present itself in MWO?

1) It's a 100 ton Assault Mech, and actually better than the Atlas.(But it's slower and doesn't have the electronics)
2) It's a Clan Mech. I don't know anymore of its history than that but the fact that it is Clan Tech means you won't see it anytime soon.(Assuming they let will players use Clan Tech at all)

Clans won't hit for the better part of a year, but given that it's probably the iconic Clan Assault, I wouldn't be surprised to see it be part of the first wave.

Yup the Daishi is just as iconic for the Clan as the Atlas is for the Inner Sphere.

Yeah, first man, its an Assault Class, not Heavy! For those who don't know, Diashi/Dire Wolf is essentially the Clan's frontline response to Atlas. "Diashi" is the Japanese word for "Great death"; worthy title to a 'Mech such as it, that can equip tripple-Clan LBX 20's with 2 Clan ER Large Lasers, or my favorite config: dual-Clan Ultra-AC 20's with a Thunderbolt launcher in the center torso, backed up by 2 Clan Large Lasers. Absolutely, DEADLY! B-) A juggernaut in the Solaris Arena, post 3050 of course ;).
