well im new here, so maybe its just non enough info about leveling, but right now, the game allow me master mech without eliting it fully.

Firstly I made this progress

mastered 2/3 atlases only.
elited 2/3 jagermech only.

so far so good.

Now, i basics smc-c, basics smn-d, basics smn-prime.

And then i elited smn-prime, and immediately mastered smn-prime.

This is intended ?

Yes, because you've already Elited a set of 3 Heavies.

That unlocks Mastery on all Heavies, so you only need to basic the others.

Was just how the game was made, I seriously doubt PGI would want to make it harder than it already is to master a chassis...

It's actually written there in the game on the skill selection menu (far right column).

All you HAVE to do is unlock the Basics on 3 Variants. Once you do that, you can just Elite and Master a single chassis. You don't have to Elite all 3 to open Master. Here are some SS to illustrate.

You can see here that on my Prime Variant, I am working on unlocking the Master Level

This Variant, I still have one Elite left to Unlock

And as you can see here, just have the Basic's Unlocked.

The one variant I have that I didn't show, I don't have ANY Basics unlocked.

Just maybe PGI should have a side note pop up when one first enters the skill level mode explaining how it works.

Would avoid any confusion.

PGI also needs to get a rid of the useless "Pinpoint" skill. It actually does nothing but act as a filler.

So remember kids, unlock "Pinpoint" last.

In place of pinpoint they should add Jump Jet Height...or you know...fix jump jets. :)

This is only true once you've elited three mechs of that weight class.

Therefore, it is highly advisable to select a mech with 3+ good variants as your first mech of each weight class.

Ummm ... look at my post again. Screenshots tell a different story.

Or are you saying that once a new player has elited at least 3 Mechs of a Weight class, then forever more, all they ever need to do is unlock the Basics on 3 variants of a Mech of that Weight Class to access Elite and Master for all it's variants? Been so long ago that I would have done that so really don't recall if that was a requirement or not. All I know is that now, I just have to unlock Basics on 3 of the Variants and I can access Elite and Master on any single variant without having to go Elite all 3.

Always gotta go through all 3 basic before elite, but once you've elited out one weight class you can fill elite and then master without filling elite on other 2 of same chassis

^This. So the best approach is to elite three variants of your first chassis in each weight class and then you're free to do what you want after basics on all subsequent chassis in that weight class.

you only need 3 basiced mechs to unlock the elite teir. once thats unlocked you can go all the way to master without eliting all 3.\

another trick i found out is that you do not need to actually own all 3 mechs at the same time to unlock elite. you just need 3 completed basic tier mechs. when i got started i bought a cicada, didnt like it, and so sold it to free the mech bay (only had 4 back then) as soon as it was basiced. later on when cw came out i wanted an ecm medium and the ecm cicada was the only game in town at the time. so i bought it and one other, after i basiced them i found i could do elite teir without the 3rd in my inventory (it was basiced before). i tell noobs that if they want to master a mech, get the varients you dont like first and basic them, then get the one you really want and master it.

This is only true once you've elited three in a weight class.
