Been running with the Victor 9S lately and I am not doing too bad in the pug queue? 3+kills and 600+ damage is not too uncommon.

I kind of like the mech. Last night I got shot in the back. I turn around and see a light plinking away at me from a ledge above me. I can practically see him thinking stupid fat Victor na na na, you can not touch me.

I have max number of JJ so I just jumped up to him and he was stuck since I blocked the exit so I just unloaded in his face and down he went. I could se the exclamation mark above his cockpit before I pressed the splat button.

Is something wrong with me for liking this mech? It has been slagged ever since I started playing.

Yes there is something wrong with you for liking a Victor, but it's ok because it's perfectly in line with you choosing to be a Smoke Jaguar.

It gets slagged because it's agility used to be ridiculously good and is now just good. It's never been a bad mech even after the nerf to agility.

Low profile, 5 E hard points, quirks, love it.

We can all get a little mech-selection-perverted every now and then

I like my Victors still. Sure they are paper but they move well.

The 9S has the benefit of being one of the two Victors that can bring an arm-mounted AC/20. The other option, the 9B, gets an extra ballistic hardpoint (useless unless you want 3x AC/2 for some reason) and one fewer missile hardpoint.

I guess the issue I have with the Victors is how their hardpoints don't really let them take advantage of their high engine cap, which would make them more maneuverable. Big-ass XL engines are only useful for energy boats, which Victors aren't. What are you going to do, bring 2 PPC and large laser? In an assault?

Four JJ also isn't very much right now, but I suppose if it clears the walls in Canyon Network it's enough.

But yeah, they're OK, they just won't have a niche unless they get some very significant movement and JJ quirks.
