#Octopack: Do you have any news on new weapons, new packs, AI being featured. Also what about new quirks?

* Looking at a complete top to bottom rebalance of all mechs in game. Will not be released in increments but all at once. Multiple PTS and wont be released until community is happy with it
* Call it a MWO Battlevalue System. Mobiility, Armor ,Weapons, Hardpoint Type and Location, ECM, Sensors etc will all contribute to BV value of mechs.
* Will increase in intel gather aspect of game for Intel Focused Mechs
* Not a direct translation from tabletop
* Hoping for a public test in Mid July
* Would like to see it live in 2nd patch August, probably will slip

Interesting....

Too bad he didnt answer my questions.
But still no Red eyes!

Thanks Zeece for your hard work. Mucha appreciated. This hearing impaired bows for you.

You know... i'm both excited and concerned about this hitreg fix.

Excited: because better hitreg.

Concerned: If something so painfully primitive and obvious such as this only gets noticed well more than a year after the creation of HSR... then it only brings up more suspicions on other aspects of the game... things that do not work properly not because there is a reason, but because it has not been figured out yet.

They don't have enough programmers working on it... they have far more artists than actual programmers @ PGI.

Also, russ said that the idea if 10 truedubs for the first 10 dhs with sub 250 engines is NEW to him... for real?.
this has been mentioned in here, twitter, reddit.... EVERYWHERE.... for more than a YEAR.
Still happy he's considering it though

Some would say he is occasionally "out of touch".

It always begs the rhetorical question.. "do you play your own game?"

...Did Russ just dodged Alistair Winter's question?

The fact that he dodged it tells us everything we need to know. And to be honest, looking at the schedule they have planned for the rest of 2015, I'd be a bit suspicious if he said they would fix the skill tree in September. When you compare what they have planned to their previous work rate, it's a vast acceleration.

Maybe they can do it, who knows. But if they're going to fix the skill tree, I would like them to do it properly, not give us a rushed "placeholder skill tree" that lasts another 2.5 years. Frankly, I'm a bit terrified that they're going to make so many huge changes in such short amount of time. Especially the Mech Battlevalue thing.

Oh, and btw:
New Thunderbolt hero with 9 energy hardpoints. Keep the hardpoint inflation going, guys.

Actually those are the stock hardpoints.

I know that those are the stock hardpoints. But that doesn't mean they have to put it in the game. Especially with this being a hero mech. It's different if we're talking about the King Crab, which people dreaded because they were worried that the dual AC20's would ruin the game. MWO needed the King Crab. Sure, it's kind of problematic that the King Crab almost made the Atlas obsolete (if it wasn't before), but it would have been too sad not to have the King Crab in MWO.

But MWO would have been fine without a 9-energy hardpoint Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt laser boats are already hugely popular, they've already dodged every nerf bat that has been chucked at the other Tier 1 mechs - except for the TDR-9S ER PPC nerf, but that doesn't count if we're talking about laser boats.

If we're looking at Inner Sphere mechs as a whole and someone asked me "Do you know what the Inner Sphere really needs?" I would never, ever have answered "You know what... I think we need another Thunderbolt laserboat. That will really spice things up."

Sometimes you have to separate what could be transferred from TT to MWO with what should be transferred from TT to MWO. Same goes with the lore, even though people love to bring lore-based arguments into balance discussions.

If I had any say in the new hero mechs, I would actually like to see some kind of missile boat Blunderbolt (i.e. 3E + 4M hardpoints?).

I don't get referred to for such matters, however.

Why would you want the Griffin-2N equivalent (minus the ECM obviously) if the Thunderbolt?

It's scary considering the Legomech™ system.

That was exactly the build I proposed as well

First, all the cool kids have missile launchers on both shoulders. Just ask Adam Steiner's Axman. It looks awesome.

Second, it would be nice to see more missiles and less lasers.

Well to be honest, it's a multiplayer game with "content" coming out steadily, so rebalance is expected

As is bringing out new mechpacks; that's such a no brainer, it's PGI's way of making money
If this game is around long enough we'll see every mech ever made; ever was, is and will be provided there is no rights trouble
It's how they make money
Surprised people are still asking for such things so many times, when MWO has a problem retaining players because of difficulty curve and staying fun

Wish some more interesting things would've been answered than balance n mechs coming out

At least some are good to know

Wonder if PGI actually reads the feature suggestion thread

That with the heat sinks; that idea is old
Other ideas touching the subject as old as DHS going from 2.0 to 1.4 and 10 sinks requirement

Now that the maps get bigger I would keep the turrets. They're only a problem on the small maps as they give away any flanking attempts. Or just alter the way they act. They could stay offline as long as no one is firing at them or walking into the cap zone.
