Currently, the Clan Omnimechs with "lucky" base configurations (i.e. Endo + FF, good engine size, etc.) are either equal to the best IS mechs or superior.

For Clan Battlemechs, nearly all of them get lucky "base" configs because they can (assuming Clan BMs work like IS BMs) adjust their engine/structure/armor at will. That is, unless PGI turns Clan Battlemechs into Omnimechs instead.

The Cbill bonus ones are rather lacklustre without hardpoint inflation, but they could be made powerhouses all the same.

I'll play around with the Hunch...but he doesn't get much to work with. 25 tons of pod space with 2B and 2E(both CT).

2 ERMLs or 2 MPLs is the natural choice, which leaves 23 tons for 2 Dakka. Strip both arms for another ton?

2 UAC10s with 5 tons of ammo, a little light, with 2 ERMLs and 1 JJ and arms completely stripped.

Not terrible, but not the ideal choice.

2 ERLLs and Gauss fit a little too well, I guess 3 JJs, 3 tons of ammo, and 3 heatsinks?

LPL or ERPPC is an option, but 2 tons elsewhere won't do much good.

Also it does rase some concern that by the time these start to be in circulation the big pass on the quirk system Russ was talking about might come to pass so who knows in what shape the IS mechs will be to recive the new IIc overlords X) .

Might not be in a bad one but now we have to keep the IIc in mind when doing the pulic tests that should be coming for those changes.

Ps. : also what is the opinion on a new clan drop deck if those 4 and there variants were available and how do most think they would to to the standard IS drop deck?

Remember ... they have to include THREE versions of each mech.

Jenner IIC 3 = Clan version of Jenner D

That could be really really nasty in the right hands (and the hit boxes aren't totally borked).

Yeah, Jenner is the only one with 3 usable variants.

That HGN with 6 AP Gauss, Gauss, 3 ERMLs, on top of 3 ATM6s...it makes me wish we had those weapons.

2 UAC20s stock would sound like fun, but then again...

It'll be dumbed down due to tonnage limits, so, it'll be interesting nonetheless.

A jumping AC40 sounds nice...depending on how much speed and armor you can pack in there.

I thought these things couldn't be customized since they were made as fodder mechs.

You mean like our current IS mechs?

Also, in some cases, Clan "second line" Battlemechs were actually more optimized/minmaxxed than their Omni counterparts. It's pretty hilarious.

This is just to give you a idea of how insane the Hunchback IIC is. Remember all armor is doubled in game. This is the suicide mech of the century With only 30 armor in the center torso its a one hit dream for crabs and Jagers and well everything. But if you can get into range and or get next to something bigger more dangerous like oh a Dire Wolf you can mop things up if you get surprise too

Option 3 will have ECM!
Hunchback IIC 4 This variant carries a pair of experimental Clan-made Ultra AC/5s with quirks, each with two tons of ammo, an ECM Suite, and additional armor in place of the standard Ultra AC/20s.[10] BV (2.0) = 2,097[11]

None, of either.

Comes stock with 50% armour.

Although, if you want to stay at 71 Kph, strip the arms, remove all JJs, add Ferro, you can get 31 tons of pod space with 8 TrueDubs.

Dual Gauss w/60 rounds and a ERML or pair of ERSLs.

Dual UAC20s would be too toasty for PoorDubs.

That format is so horrible to read. Here is something a lot more legible:

Most of these crazy builds truly are glass cannons when it comes to stock.

I'm sure there will be some middle ground...

Not sure how much middle ground there will be...

Here's the pod space for 200, 250 and 300 engines:

71 Kph
29.5 tons of pod space with efficient maximum, 31 tons with completely stripped arms.

89 Kph
26.5 max, 28 tons with stripped arms

107 Kph
23.5 max, 25 arms stripped

That's with 1B in either ST, and 2E in the CT.

Tell me what you can efficiently build with that...because I completely overlooked Dual Gauss due to being preoccupied with TrueDubs...with weapons that don't generate heat.

At 89 kph, perhaps 2 UAC/10 with 6 tons of ammo, and 2 ERML?

At 107, you can probably do 2 UAC/5 (also 6 tons of ammo) and 2 MPL.

Perhaps be a bit derpy and do Gauss + 2 ERLL?

Oooh.. Dual Clan Gauss Hunchback IICs.

Strip off the arm tonnage... shouldn't that be enough for at least 4 tons of ammo?

Faceoff vs the Grid Iron... it would be glorious.

Use the stock engine for it; nearly max aside from the arms, 6 tons of ammo, 2 ERSLs.

That was an option, I think I listed it earlier in the thread.

You could do ERPPC, but that cuts down on...well, everything.

4 JJs might be enough, 5 on the Nova is alright.

Ok, help me here, totaly custumisable mechs , no omni pod to change hardpoints, but options for endo, fero, clan xl engine , normal engines and all clan weapons... with clan doubles hs ....

When this hits could any IS ever be competitive again?

The thing is we knew for like 2 or 3 months they were confirmed... just saying.

We knew IIC will be Wave 4 (or what ever the next pack is)

However we got more details recently ^^

No, there were plenty of Omni's left.

Half dozen Meds, one Light (+Firemoth), half dozen Heavies, and one Assault.

That's without making up new variants, which could include another Assault and another few Meds.

Does this mean the war is over? I mean the clan mechs are already better than most IS mechs, and now they get clan versions of IS mechs. Will there be ANYONE left to defend the IS?
