mass is the combination of the height, width, and depth. this thread seems to be focused on only one of those factors. the treb is tall but pancake thin. the grasshopper has stick limbs.

In the case of the Treb, depth has less impact on gameplay than frontage (generally speaking you get more face to face engagement) in a game like this and immersively speaking, how does a pancake thin mech load missiles into the tubes :-p

Top 5? Pretty easy:
1) Awesome
2) Nova
3) Quickdraw
4) Dragon
5) Trenchbucket

Honorable mention: Catapult. Might be ok with just better quirks/hitboxes.

Note that if a mech got its height reduced, its other 2 dimensions would have to be reduced at the same time in order to preserve the aspect ratio (otherwise it would look really stretched/distorted).

Some mechs could use being "distorted"
Like the Centurion and Quickdraw, which both are much wider and boxier than their concept arts.

I think you mean a remodeling, not a "distortion" (the latter is like when you try to stretch one dimension of a .jpg image and it looks really weird).

Little depth is fantastic for those who twist under fire. Yes, twisting is done in face to face engagements.

Quickdraw
Trebuchet
Nova
Catapult
Awesome

Done!

Edit: perhaps a special wish runner-up also if I may, that is to keep the snout on the Dragon, because it's a Dragon, but make it significantly slimmer from shoulder to shoulder to help DPS-Dragons a bit.

1. Dragon (it's fatter and taller than a timby, wider than a stalker, every single spot is easy to aim for and hit)
2. Awesome (too fat, frankly I'd scale it down 10-20% and maybe add a quirk where it ignores ghost heat for the first 3 PPCs)
3. Quickdraw (too tall)
4. Trebuchet (Too tall and it's boring looking)
5. Timberwolf (too damn small)

I'm not denying that, but even with twisting the more frontage you have the more is exposed while you twist, at the angles if you get what I mean

height =/= mass. im the same height as my friend. i weigh 140, he weighs 240.

how has no one mentioned the vindicator? oh yeah. its so bad everyone forgot it existed.

I'm talking about balancing, leave you measurements outside. If you want logic, then MWO's mechs cannot function in real life if they are built that way.

Just realize that so many mediums are on the list...

The top of my list is like this...

Awesome
Quickdraw
Trebuchet
Grasshopper
Nova

However, the mediums do fill this list too:

Virtually every 55 tonner (Shaqhawk, Griffin, Wolverine, Kintaros as big as the Jager)
Cicada (it should be actually smaller, relatively speaking)

There's a huge list of mediums de jour that needs to be fixed.

1. Quickdraw
2. Quickdraw
3. Nova
4. Awesome
5. Kitfox

Sorry, I didn't mean to put the Quickdraw on two, but it just wouldn't fit in only one...

1. Awesome
2. Grasshopper
3. Shadowhawk
4. Trebuchet
5. Griffon

OK my list is very different from others but I only bring these mech up because unlike some others, like the Orion. The Orion does need work as well as the Jenner but I feel those are more hit box issues than just "scaling" issues.

These mechs you have the Awesome which many have refered to as a barn door because it is so huge that it can't be missed just like a barn. The Grasshopper is just as big as an assault and it should be a heavy in size (same with the Orion which did not make my list). The Shadowhawk and Griffon are also as tall as an Assault and taller Heavies which leads me to believe they also need to be scaled down. The other mech that is on the list is also tall (the T-Bucket) which also is gangally.

So please change these mechs as well as some others.
