Me too ^ the SOLO antisocial warrior is the cancer in this game and my high ELO and stomp power is the cure. I will keep stomping you until one of two things happen. Actually the group queue was primarily introduced because of the intense crying/raging of the prosolo crowd shouting grouping up with some friends "wasn't fair" to those who refused to do that.
You have to admit that the MWO playerbase sounds crazy with all this anti teamwork stuff. I showed a few anti group threads to my future mother in law (she's an avid gamer) and the first thing she said after reading them was "are these people idiots?!"
She's 57 by the way.

While I find the complaints about having to fight against groups as a solo to be absurd, and while I rather enjoy being thrown to the wolves so to speak your view point is kind of crappy as well. Just because I don't often play with a group doesn't mean I can't work with the group, that I am anti-social, or that I am somehow a cancer to the game. The only real cancer this game has is the attitude of us vs them. It is the same kind of nonsense where people complain that we don't have pve and that this game never should have been a pvp game which just leads to petty bickering back and forth from both sides. There is room for both pve and pvp just as there is room for solos and teams without the need to attack one group or the other.

That being said we desperately need better group functionality in this game, and the treatment groups have received in this game from the devs has been appalling.

I'm not worry about the anti-social.. I'm more worried about the anti-teamwork guys.

These are the guys that have made posts like "don't target/help our LRM using teammates" or "don't want to work with other groups" or "don't want people stealing their kills" (or a similarly farming kills only, and let everyone else do the damage) and such sentiments.

That's the kind of blight that needs to go away.

Sad apart about this, many of those people are IN units and do target when they drop with their unit in a group, it's in the solo que that they refuse to help their teammates.

Personally speaking, the solo queue is filled with massive ignorance. There will still be good players dropping in there, but for the most part, there are still people playing this very game that don't religiously use "r"/target enemy command.

Just in CW, I saw a person "shooting the gun" or "the gate" but not the gens (which is the actual objective).

This is what the NPE or more properly.. the complete lack of one is doing for the game.

Its funny I do miss the 8 man pugs often now that we dont have a choice. ALSO we need tiered pugs.. i.e. I want to pug with someone that has played a year plus - has a 1.5 kdr or higher and not an idiot.

They should allow us to play in some sort of tiered PUGS by now. Less punishment to vets

The frustration level PUGing causes compared to being in a decent 6+ man group is night and day. I can't play more than two games solo due to derp group mish mash but played two hours with my old mates from CSJa in a 6 to 8 man.

4 mans seem like a good place to be so long as it doesn't pit three groups against one group.

I like how they hate finishing the quote from russ about 12 man groups and how people prefer to pub stomp. And how he doesnt see how thats fun.. well guess what? Neither do most people. It is why cw is at best a ghost town. The so called l33t players dont want a challenge and it killed the very mode they wanted.. bravo. Now they refuse to give any compromises but somehow want players to play with them. Thats good popcorn.

They dont want a challenge?

Then why is no one in CW? Because im pretty sure if the Groups wanted a challenge they could fight other groups....or do comp league stuff, MRBC, MCW, etc. etc.

You have no idea what you are talking about and the reason CW is a ghost town is because it BORING, has nothing to do with PUG vs the big bad boggeyman groups or anything else...its sucks in every way, shape and form.

This is why its a ghost town....if it was fun, had meaning, Groups would still be there fighting other groups.

Don't kid yourself like you have all the answers bud....

No i think you have no idea, or rather are in deniel. Even russ said that data proved most 12 mans rather just stomp and its true. Just look at responses an attitudes about if you are not in a unit, cw is for hardcores only etc. Yet you want people to play it and want to make some absurd rules to force it and still maintain your full force. Hate to break it to you people but for most it is a game and no one wants to file a 401k or w2 form in order to run with a group. As for dont want a challenge? Yea you dont or you would pug more. You group in order to establish a baseline of performance, you dont want that shaken so you dont shake it. Next you are going to tell me how all mechs are balanced and cw should be the only game mode.

Like most players i just avoid cw and like the data proved it is a correct assessment. Let me give you a cold hard fact, unless that changes cw is dead. Its already in its death throws but you want to keep putting holes in the ship. So smart you people.

What Russ REALLY said was that when 12 mans face PUGs, the PUGs get stomped and he doesn't see how that is fun. He did NOT say the 12 mans are out there LOOKING to stomp PUGs, that is YOU saying that, showing your bias and hatred of organized units with your own statements.

12 mans don't like the stomps anymore than the PUGs do, it's not fun, it's boring, and it promotes bad habits. Large units abhor it, and it's been years since we actually HAD units that did PUG stomping for fun, that was the Goonies and their ilk, griefers to the bone in every game they play, most of whom got banned from MWO for their griefing.

EmP, 228, -MS-, all the top units, they don't WANT to face PUGs, they want to face each other and other 12 mans from units, THAT is fun and it's how they train and get better, not facing PUGs.

YOU are the solo player who is the real problem, you don't want organized units playing the game, so you bad mouth and make them out to be vile PUG stomping baby eating devils.

The group information Russ was giving out, that's GROUP QUE, not CW, maybe you should learn to listen to what's actually said. CW having a low population has to do with how unfun it is for EVERYONE. Long que times, low reward for the time spent, and it has absolutely NOTHING in the way of incentives right now to give anyone a reason to play it after they've earned their free Mech Bays for the Loyalty Points for each House and Clan, so people get those and then avoid CW. Since you haven't done CW, you don't know what it's like, and yet you speak with so much authority on what you know nothing about.

Limiting the group que to a max 4 man size is ONLY for the Group Que and has nothing at all do with the CW que, that won't be changed at all. Again, you should listen to what Russ said, not say what YOU think, you keep showing that bias and hatred.....

I agree some what with your thinking on PvE, and playing against AI, not being the same as playing against real ppl.

That said, I do think that a really good PvE / co op would give a place for the newbies to learn / be trained into the extensive LORE of the BT Universe, and go through the extensive learning curve that MWO requires, to get good at building and driving their mechs, along with easier grinding of cbills for all the extras, and getting into the game and finding a like/love for the game/lore, before getting roll stomped by vets in any of the PvP ques and rage quitting after a few games, or hating the low cbill grind because of the stomps.....

There are several other reasons that PvE is sorely needed, but I think that the NPE is the most important....!!!!!!

Sure, showing my biased statement.. and cw is popular now? Perhaps you guys should invest into reality a bit, at least enough to know the trends.

Oh and for the record there is nothing wrong with teams or organized play. Some of us just dont have all the time in the world to put devotion into that. That is why cw is also not more popular than the other game modes. Anything you do will not really change that unless cw is more casual friendly. Yes yes i know filthy casuals and all that. Yet they make the bulk of players.

Oh and final thought, i would rather the game succeed because i love giant robot fights. Than have your ego stroked. Another major issue with some cw players.

I wonder why they don't just add some kind of 'match quirk' that would give the side that is at a disadvantage some buffs to help even things out.

12 pre-made vs pugs... give pugs a 30 heat reduction or something for the match.
