I want to code a standalone inventory management app which reflects:
  • which stage of levelling each chassis is at
  • where modules, engines other loadout equipment are
  • grouping Mechs into various combinations of drop decks
At the moment I am tracking all of this manually on a Spreadsheet. I'd much rather create a simple app which pulls and sorts data from the MechLab.

Please let us access this data via an API.

Yes to this.

Now PGI before you get all upset.....
All we want is a read only version to start with.
Make it just dump the raw data struct in a json packet and we'll sort out what everything means.
And I'll say a READ ONLY, even if its a data dump button on the profile page so you know only the own is getting the data. Then players like the OP can download and process it at the end of nights gaming.

Cheers

I think it's a great idea. Some way for me to check up on my mechs, and do extra theory-tweaking with them when I can't log in (at work, at a ball game, party ... etc.) would be very much appreciated.

They should just use smurfy's system for both in game and out of game mech tweaking. Would be a lot easier.
