I personally was just hoping they'd add some new assets to fight over besides just gauss cannons.

Like space ports, industrial centers, resource facilities...perfect ways of bridging combat and logistics for both 12v12 and 4v4 engagements.

Logistics was stated as part of CW Phase 3 ages ago.

Right, PGI just said "logistics in phase 3 maybe" which could not have been more vague, it was at least several months ago which is a while, and there has been nothing at all to indicate development on any logistics features either.
If there was something more concrete at any point in time then I would be wondering what the deal is too, but there wasn't and there still hasn't been anything at all, so why expect it because of some extremely vague statement made quite a while ago?

As a guess I would say they are working on as many as 10 maps as well as 10 mechs, logistics, tutorial and about 3 other important additions by my count... it seems they have a small amount of people working on each of these parts. Some of the additions are ready like decals but other things are not ready yet.

The E-sports thing that's recently been a hot topic isn't NEWS people, it was also brought up in that 2011 announcement and has always been part of the plan for MWO's development. Russ has mentioned it plenty of times over the years, so why everyone has their panties in a wad now is beyond me, this wasn't suddenly sprung on us out of the blue or anything.
E-sports and CW shouldn't be related at all, Solaris is what the E-sports aspect should be all about, and since we know they are WORKING on Solaris but it's a long way out, I think you people can chill a bit on the 'E-sports ate my baby!' hyperbole.

Phase 4 of the galaxy map was mentioned. It seems the design for that map has grown and grown. It was said it wouldnt be totally done until the end of the year a while back sadly.
Mechwarrior is going all out on this thing making something no game has made yet and deserves some respect. Sure there are other maps out for other games but those are a meaningless maps of a bunch of numbers only really, which is cool to but this one will have maps representing steps to planet take over and such stuff. No doubt logistics will be of medium depth to, i hope it doesnt require a degree to understand.

Looking at all this i just know they have metropolis maps for planet/faction capitals in the works.

It's 2015 and technology has improved a lot. Things no longer have to be on different "servers".

Sorry Johnny, but making an interactive map of the Inner Sphere in 3050 isn't hard, I personally created one in 1996 for NBT and it's been redone since by other people running NBT over the years. PGI has the map done, making it interactive is done, so what exactly is the hold up because it sure as hell isn't making the map.
I had the complete map and every single planet, every Jump point, including Pirate points, on the map I created, time from destination to target, which included exactly how many jumps were needed, ALL of that, using html code ONLY for christ's sake! I did that, not a team, just little old me, in my spare time over a couple of months, between running a business and having a wife, 3 kids, 2 dogs and a life. So what exactly do you think is the hold up again Johnny? White knighting when someone is calling out PGI without cause is one thing man, but what YOU are doing in this case isn't that.
I've offered the NBT system to PGI, so have the other people who've run NBT over the years, it's already created, tested and works great for planetary conquest, easily adaptable to whatever PGI wants to do with it. They don't want it, nor do they want our help. I'm not sure WTF they are actually doing with CW now, but the lack of any REAL progress is starting to get really effing annoying. They are doing things totally halfassed, backwards, and without any real direction at all. No idea why since they are doing something that WE, the players, have been doing for close to 20 effing YEARS now with planetary conquest leagues. NO legitimate godsbedamned reason for PGI to be taking THIS long on something THIS easy to do.

Huh? Please point me to any concrete statements made by PGI specifically talking about the strategic aspect of planetary takeovers. I am asking because so far the only one that I know of that has even a modicum of strategy is mine.

<It's a shameless plug, I know>
