My Idea About Aiming While In The Air (Poptart Related)

This doesn't involve RNG and you can get accustomed to it to pull remarkable shots (but it will be hard)! And if this "poptart problem" can be resolved then we could have proper Jump Jets which let us to really jump!
What do you think?

The trouble with all of this, is viability. If we propose a situation that doesn't make poptarting viable, no-one will use it, and it will be wasted programming time for PGI.
If we make a solution that is viable, well, poptarting will absolutely return.

The cursor is telling the truth about where your shot will land and nothing is done about convergence. It just has "inertia" (drift) while you are in the air.
This will simulate the TT's rule of penalty to hit while airborne. Like the Gauss charge mechanism, you still can circumvent it if you work on your skill.

If anything, the reticule should bounce like crazy while a mech is running across the ground.
I pointed this out in another thread and I'll say it here again: did you know that horse archers shooting at a gallop time their shot release for that moment when all four of the horse's hooves are off of the ground? That's the best time to shoot, when rider and horse are completely airborne, because otherwise the horse's hooves hitting the ground will jar the rider and throw off his shot.

Then so be it. I do not fear them.
Why are others so scared shitless again?

Now we can buff JJs and restore balance to the force.

They've been raised to believe they gain freedom by depriving everyone else of freedom. That they gain rights by depriving others of rights. They believe they're making everyone who plays this game more *free* by depriving jump snipers and jump brawlers of freedom to play the game.
Its an integral component of the backwards "WAR IS PEACE, SLAVERY IS FREEDOM" mindset people these days are indoctrinated into having.

I guess people fear it because it was the #1 tactic. You either joined the poptarts or were beaten by them. All other tactics #2 or lower.
And what's not to like? Maximum firepower, minimum exposure, 100% control of the flow of battle. You don't need to relocate to get better lines, because you can make your own anywhere.
Lots of people insisted that there were counters to poptarting, but the loudest voices insisting that were poptarts.
Battles are already predominantly long range peek fests as they are. If poptarts can be brought back without encouraging camping even further, then I'd probably be all for that, but the poptarting days I remember involved moving to first contact, and that was it.

I've got no issues with poptarting, so long as other tactics are equally viable. You know, like right now? Poptarting still exists (outside of assaults), it's just no longer point-click easy mode anyone can do on a whim. If they de-nerf class1 jets that would be enough for me. Maybe if they scaled height better with number of jets, so 1 wasn't enough for everything.

And here are some people who think what is good for the game, is limiting their freedom. You want the year of suck--2013 back with all the poptarting glory? Be my guest, and watch MWO burn in Steam release.

Actually our crosshair does bounce wilder the higher the running speed is, except only in 3rd person mode! You can ask that they implement this in 1st person mode if you like.

I'm not suggesting crosshair bounce while airborne (?). See my reply to YueFei above. Now supposedly we have "head bob" in 1st person mode while moving, which magnitude becomes greater the higher your speed is. Jumping will eliminate this and now your X-hair sits perfectly still, but, you will have X-hair/mouse drift when you try to move it.

Like this sugar glider!
Nerf everything into the ground but I will still try and do what I wanna do and thats jump and shoot, and it's never let me down for fun or success yet.

Actually my suggestion is not a nerf but a replacement for the "shaking crosshair" mechanism which basically prevents you from aiming while using the JJs. Aiming with "mouse drift" while airborne is like brawling using Gauss with charging mechanism: you can do it but first you have to be good.

Soy himself wrote that poptarting is not dead, and he's right.
You can already do it, in a bunch of mech, nova, bj, griffin I like most.
IMO, the annoying thing were the assaults, 'cause big alpha and big armor.
Lurmageddon and poptarting turned out to be boring, and I don't want them come back.
Do you wanna poptart? Drop in those medium that still have JJ instead of HJ.
