That analogy really doesn't work, at all.

It's more like a jet fighter deciding not to take a rocket pod.

Remember that on a Jet fighter the "Pod" is a Hard Point and that means extra weight.

This has come up with IS mechs too. Yes, you need to take a complete mech.

I can see why in a Clan with negative omni quirks, it can be more of a bummer, but I'm pretty sure you could swap out the offending omni pod for one without negative quirks.

Mechs need all their limbs.

What it really comes down to, is the left arm with a single energy hardpoint should have no negative quirk.

I also feel the CTs with energy hardpoints should have no negative quirk as well.

I'd like to drop in some IS Mechs without arms so I can devote their weight to other systems, but that's not happening. You also can't just leave off am arm omnipod for 3 reasons.

1. Dropping the Omnipod is essentially dropping the entire arm.
2. You can't drop a limb in this game just to canabalize the weight according to "the rules" (and this also goes for PGI's Quirks)
3. Most weght of a limb is just the armor and weapons; the limb itself has very, VERY little weight (consider the fact that a "50 ton Mech" without armor, weapons, or engine is comprised entirely of only 2.5 tons of Endosteel)

As I posted earlier, you can not avoid this negative quirk.

Every available TBR LA has at least one energy hardpoint, and you incur negative quirks whether or not you actually slot a weapon there.

It was a very badly handled, dumb, blanket nerf.

You even get negative penalties if you are only using clan smalls or even CERPPCs. Builds that absolutely generated zero complaints.

Um... I'm not going to make it long but to put it short omnipods are mech limbs....

And that this is ground rules: A MECH MUST HAVE ALL OMNIPODS OR ITS A NO GO.

For example do jet fighter pilots just decide to not take the landing gear?

LOL, you could easily run a mech with no weapon on its arm, with no arm and function fine... landing gears dont compare...

Please make yourself aware of the available Timber Wolf left arm omni-pods, and what quirks they come with.

Thanks.

Nah, I'm good. That's what you guys are for. I said I thought and you corrected me.

So, I guess you're stuck with your nerf. Bummer.
