I doubt it is "most". And even then, between lasers getting splashed by torso rolling, missile spread, and the way UACs work, you generally have to be caught badly off guard at point blank range to be "instagibed". Even a 50-tonner with no toughness quirks can take a 60 point hit to a side torso and still have a little something left.

I don't think I've ever been insta-gibbed in a 1v1 combat situation. The only time I've ever been instagibbed, is when there are four of five Mechs focusing on me; that can be hurtful if they're all high alpha builds.

Even then, I tend to live for several seconds.

I tend to chuckle at people whining about high alpha Timbers and Knights. Oh, 50 or 60 damage? That's nice. A decently build SplatDog can hit 100 easily. But people don't think about the Mad Dog, they obsess over it being on the low end of the weight class and its prominent side torsos, but ignore the fact that it can easily bring firepower that dawrfs that of many assaults.

Which cannot hit a pixel.

Quirked LPLs can be spread perhaps over two hitboxes, not more.

It's a touch over a half second (0.603s)

MLs a touch over that, of course, but that's still ~40-45 damage while the LPLs burn.

It was in a Town Hall, where he was making excuses as to why they haven't done their ban wave yet.

One of the excuses was that PGI was 'experimenting' on the cheaters.

The only way to do that is live manipulation of their game play.

It's then not that hard to build in triggers for general game play when something of 'X' happens 'Y' number of times within 'Z' time frame, do Affect1, etc...

To be honest, it would be one of the FIRST dang things I would do, if producing a game like this.
