Unfortunately, Russ did say no IS omnis just yet in the previous Town Hall, which means no Raptor. :(

Lame. Although I can understand with the timeline being at 3052 there's just one IS omni available.

Here's a mech that could be a fantastic 95 tonner, The Nightstar: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Nightstar

The Nightstar was the chosen Assault on my list 5 pages back. I like the way it looks! Unfortunately, the NSR-9SS is using 3058+ tech, making the Nightstar's inclusion dubious at this point since that means it only has two available variants. But, who knows, PGI may let it out early.

Anvil - Heavy

6 Variants - 3M, 5M, 6M, 8M, 3R, 5Q

Hammer is nice, Anvil is awesome, how about an IS 40 tonner ..

Hmm, tbh I've lost a little bit of interest in the Annihilator. It's gonna just be another slow assault with fun but non competitive setups. I'm not meta crazy but I'd want the next batch of mechs to be as strong as possible without heaps of quirks, that or fill an unfilled role.

Don't know if its been said yet, but,
why has no one
suggested
the Flashman?

View PostNathan Foxbane, on 04 July 2015 - 12:30 PM, said:

Because the Flashman is basically a Black Knight with an extra energy and AMS hardpoint and slightly shuffled hardpoint locations.

The Flashman would be worse than the Black Knight, same all Energy loadout, huge torsos no matter how the hitboxes are designed.

It'd be epic if a dev acknowledged this thread. We've had some good discussion about which mechs we'd want to get next.

They acknowledge little unless it is Twitter.

Well the Mauler and a few others have made up variants, no reason the Nightstar (or Falconer) couldn't get the same.

I think Javelin, Assassin, Falconer & Nightstar would be just about perfect for the next IS pack.

I think the IS needs some of the gaps in their line up filled, most notable the Warhammer! :)

You want the Nightstar, it's basically the Falconer's fat big brother.

After some thought, I've reconsidered on the Falconer. Throwing my support behind the Penetrator.

The Falconer is already a pretty tight build "out of the box", and as much as I adore Alex's art for it, there doesn't seem to be many places left for the Falconer to go without downgrading certain parts. Also, it's entirely lacking in alternative builds, meaning PGI would have to create at least two more apocryphal variants.

The Penetrator, on the other hand, has loads of room for improvement and adjustment with stock Standard equipment, at least three in-timeline alternative builds (one with missiles, one with ECM, one with... less lasers) with the 3055 TRO suggesting a ballistic variant, and a few famous pilots (including Kai Allard-Liao) to base a Hero Mech around. Not to mention the flood of juvenile humour just on the name alone :P

In a better universe, I'd love to see both of them stomping around, but more practically for the short-term "next Mech Pack" criteria, I have to back the Penetrator.

It's def. Between these two for me. I'd be happy either way.
