This event was pretty ******. Ghost dropping a planet takes more than 2 hours. Losing your tags on a planet to another unit in your faction because they successfully defended ONCE is beyond ********.

I think we lost hundreds of hours in Ghostdrops this weekend which was btw the hottest in Germany this year. This mechanic must be replaced. It sucks the meaning out of CW and the will to play out of each player. Being forced to use this to be able to compete is just terrible.

Please PGI, at least give us AI garrisons to beat. Ghost Drops are killing CW.

PGI is killing CW. Ghost drops are just the buttercream icing on the **** cake. If the mode were even equal in gameplay overall to standard pub queue, more people would play. And if the tourneys and events were actually thought out at all, more people might actually care.

Alas, CW is still the red-headed stepchild of MWO game modes.

Congrats, 12th Donegal Guards. We in Night's Scorn put in a lot of hard work to try to catch and/or keep ahead of you. The challenge was exciting to say the least, and I hope it was for all of you as well!

Likewise. I personally played 18-19 hours on both Saturday and Sunday almost non-stop, including several consecutive hours of ghost dropping.

No personal offense now but you still think on a tactical level instead of a strategic or operational level. Further, it was not only your unit who had to fight with the warm weather on the weekend.

Speaking of the game mechanics.

Ghost Drops also takes resources of a faction and it needs some coordination that faction members go out and do boring drops undefended. However, this is actually a necessity to bait defenders.

Anyhow, there are a few options to prevent attackers from slowly capturing a planet by such tactics.
a) send some defenders or b
B) organize faction members to attack undefended planets.

a) is something every faction could do but instead of defending, everybody tries to fill up a 90+ A/D planet.

Consider it as a lesson in the future: In CW it counts how many planets you have taken or defended.

Just to clarify

Actual Ghost Drop time

10 minute countdown wait time assuming you are only group ghost dropping
30 seconds with various vid/animations ie dropship, destruction explosions of omega and showing planet/mode before battle starts
2 minutes running killing omega and/or gens/beacons
15-75 sec readying up screen while can be done quicker every so often there is a DC that takes it beyond a minute
30 sec - 1 minute battle summary and everyone readying up again for next drop
30 sec to find a new person to join and ready up unless 12 man is fully dedicated to ghost dropping entire time
plus any other time spent I missed


How about we just round it all out to 15 minutes per ghost drop

of course ghost dropping needs ressources. mainly time which could be spent on much more rewarding and fun things like to tidy up or cleaning the toilet.

but as long as there is no event no one cares who owns a planet because it has zero impact on the game.
and yeah i know its beta. cw beta 2 and mwo beta 37.

Simple suggestion to make ghost drops and CW in general more rewarding: Make damage to turrets and gen's count towards total damage.

The current system of rewarding last hit on a turret, tough luck for the player(s) who may have done the other 99%.
And damage for shooting gen's - being the lone pug game enough to take out a gate gen on Boreal while facing a ERLL gun line, whole lotta fun for no reward.

Won't add many C-Bills, but at least it's some recognition that you are helping the team win.

BTW: I'm looking forward too a full listing of player numbers and he whole sjebang* of stats.


PS: make clans 10-man, this will cool them off en fight amongst them selfs more.
Or maybe we could have the 20 ton difference back those Whining litle clanners couldn't stop complaining about, sry that came out quickly.
