No personal offense now but you still think on a tactical level instead of a strategic or operational level. Further, it was not only your unit who had to fight with the warm weather on the weekend.
Speaking of the game mechanics.
Ghost Drops also takes resources of a faction and it needs some coordination that faction members go out and do boring drops undefended. However, this is actually a necessity to bait defenders.
Anyhow, there are a few options to prevent attackers from slowly capturing a planet by such tactics.
a) send some defenders or b
organize faction members to attack undefended planets.
a) is something every faction could do but instead of defending, everybody tries to fill up a 90+ A/D planet.
Consider it as a lesson in the future: In CW it counts how many planets you have taken or defended.
