Hey guys what has happened in the past couple of months of MWO, I am looking to come back after a looong hiatus from the game (probably just before the Urbie was released). So I have a few questions for you guys:

Firstly, has the meta changed, or is it still gauss/uac stacking direwhales?

Secondly, I watched the most recent Dev Vlog #12, and they were talking about reworking maps (YES!). Is river city the only map that has been reworked and finally has there been any new maps added?

Lastly, what is the performance like now, it wasn't too bad 3-4 months ago, but I was just wondering if they have made so actual improvements on the engine/got more competent with optimisation?

Thanks,

ALICS

The meta is unchanged, really. Mostly it's laser vomit or lasers + Gauss, with some deviation here and there for special cases (i.e. Dakka Whale or certain superquirked IS mechs).

Other maps will probably be reworked later, but it will probably be a while.

The game runs the same as it has for a long time.

dunno what your elo is, but stackin' uacs on dire wolves was never really "in" from what i've seen, guass are still in.

new maps have come out for CW, but not for the pug que. They're plannin' on reworkin' more of the oldest maps.

Performance seems to be up for me, at least. They've also got this hit-registration thing they're workin' on to help better detect damage to mechs who are torso twisting.

They're promising some big HSR optimizations for the next couple of patches.

There's also talk of a big balance change test coming sometime next month.

No idea what that could be about.

Newly introduced support of 64 bit operating systems offers a big boost.

Lack of optimisation isn't PGI's fault. That falls moreso on CryEngine.
