We've had some issues in our unit. Here's the gist of things:
The top guy in our unit logged on early morning on the first day that unit creation was available in MWO to reserve our name, but beyond that, he's just a regular user.
I'm effectively our unit manager (organizing scrims, provide TS, technical support, coordinate graphic design, etc.). We have a rank structure that we use without our unit outside the game, which the in-game ranks mirror, but I'm unable to edit this stuff because I'm not the person who reserved the name back then.
So here's the thing; our unit "leader" tells me that he wants to pass on leadership to me so that we can basically set things in-game as they are outside, but the UI has no working mechanism to do that.
I've heard that if a unit leader leaves a unit, then the unit effectively has no leader. I've also heard that unit leadership gets passed to a random member, so we're hesitant to go that route too.
How can we solve this, barring creating a whole new unit and asking our members to migrate?

Faction tab, under Member Management.
Select the new leader then the "Resign Command" button should be available.
Should do it.

You guys got a problem:
The unit founder can give you all rights... but he will always remain the founder.
He can´t leave the unit as long as there is even one other member in it.
Write to support.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to write to support, to see what they say. I'm told that "Resign Command" does nothing.

Thats misinformation ... at least in the past I was able to transfer command of a unit from one account to another with this multiple times and NEVER had any problems !
BUT only the current leader of a unit can do this ... and if he doesnt want to do it, he may say that it doesnt work

First you have to select the new leader in your unit, then assign him the same rank as the leader ( not neccessary, but usually better ... if current leader has lower rank, assign to him the same rank as the new leader ), THEN transfer command to the new leader selected in the list of members in the faction tab.
I asume support wont help you, unless YOU are the CURRENT LEADER of your unit ( the member with the STAR in the list of members in the faction tab ) ... so better found a new unit with a new name and TAG, thats the easiest way

PS: IF you have a stupid R E T A R D as unit leader, he may already have transfered command accidentally to a random member of your unit ( remember, the member with the STAR is the current leader ), that would explain why he cant transfer command to you ...
PPS: [URSA] Ursis Sanguinem isnt that important as a unit name, it would be worse if you try to use a name as similar to a "real" unit as possible ( check http://www.sarna.net...ost_Bear_Touman for more info about "real" CGB units ! )

If you want to use a FRR compatible name, I suggest looking at http://www.sarna.net...rmer_Formations first ... for example the [2ndF] 2nd Freemen would be good name.
