...Dollar for dollar probably the best mouse I've found, ever
I used a logitech G3 for 11 years before I went for the Proteus Core. Do it.
Paid 90 quid for mine and still love it lol the onboard memory and processor is excellent, it's supposed to poll in at 1000hz but you'll find it goes above that, sometimes knocking 1300-1500 according to the tests I've done.
The onboard memory will store everything, so there's no need to always have the LGS software installed. Simply install LGS, set all your profiles and button binds to use onboard memory, delete the software and you're away. I assign the extra buttons to be pgup, pgdwn, & delete along with the DPI shift on the thumb to drop the sensitivity through the floor.
The surface tuning I thought to be a gimmick at first, completely amazing. I never tend to use a mouse pad so I found the mouse to be picking up little divots and reflections here n there which I've become accustomed to.
Tuned the mouse to the surface and it ran across smooth as silk, I could even tune a profile that'd work on a sofa, simply excellent.
The materials used have a good feel to them. A very nice assortment of rubberised plastics and matte finishes compliment each other nicely and the whole thing feels solid, braided cord and the weights are an added bonus.
Good solid bit of kit, can't recommend it enough.
Edit: LAWD! How could I forget the freewheel for scrolling?! Click a button and the scrollwheel runs free, it's nice and weighty so flicks well under the finger. No jaggedy clicking as you scroll through pages! Browsing the internet, scrolling through forums and looking through text is just beautiful!
flick it and let it roll, ooop flick her back up, and down again WHHEEEEEEE!!!!
You'll completely forget what you're looking for but you'll have a giggle doing it.

I absolutely love the Tyon. I can't speak for the two paddle switches, as I don't use them, but everything else is easy to press after a while of using the mouse. Also, the button assignment, color coding, and macro making in the software is very streamlined. I know it's a bit pricey for 90$, but It's a well build mouse that will last and work with any type of game..

I own the G700 as well, and it's not even in the same league in terms of comfort & button placement for gaming - the Proteus wins hands down IMO.
As you know the buttons on the G700 are kind of narrow in peak with less surface area where your thumb would be. The Proteus buttons are both wider, and with a lower profile, so they don't stick out so far from the mouse but end up being better in terms of usability.
The spacing is much better too - unlike the G700 that has a couple of side buttons side by side where you can slip or miss and hit the wrong one - almost all of the buttons on the proteus have their own distinct location which makes training muscle memory easier and more consistent.
Physically the G700 is more rounded and fits into the hand more like a ball - I personally don't like it for gaming because of how I grip a mouse. (You have to kind of palm the whole thing)
The Proteus is more sleek and has a lower profile. I'm not sure if that's preferable for you or not.
The adjustable weights seemed like a marketing gimmick to me, but actually I spent a few play sessions and made slight tweaks and finding the right weight (and weight location) was actually better for overall comfort and extended usability.
Since you own the G700 + software now, it will be nice that you can basically save your key-bindings and just place them where you want them if you get the proteus.
Honestly, since the price dropped on the proteus I'm tempted to grab 2 more of them, one for my laptop to replace the old G700 and one spare just in case.

Oh, you don't have to sell me on the software or features. It's very similar to the G700 which I've used for a few years and is almost a perfect mouse. In fact, if I could get the Proteus in the same wired/wireless setup I would have already bought it. I just wanna make sure all the buttons are easy to press as that's the only issue I have with the G700

Just kidding. Up until last week I was using an old Razer Death Adder (first gen I think). Now I'm trying to get use to a CM Storm Spawn.

You can remap certain controls to your 12 thumb buttons on the Naga, and have an entire chunk of your keyboard in a more comfortable position (and more ergonomic locations) with the Tartarus.

Ahh I hear you dear fellow. Long L/R buttons are a bit more floaty than what I was used to and can be a bit sensitive depending on how you grip but nothing that makes it feel bad.
The two side buttons I thought were tricky at first until I felt the further one being slightly larger than its fellow behind it. With that sussed it's easy to squeeze the further button, rock your knuckle onto the closest or roll your thumb up to press both simulataniously.
The two buttons to the left of the trigger are good, the furthest is the easiest to use, on the closer one you'll find yourself unable to left click as quick as you may like so that's best set as a non essential control.
You can still get a good squeeze on the mouse without the danger of clicking anything too.

Of course we know you are kidding, That thing is kinda lacking.
But this, on the other hand, is a different beast altogether:

What mice do you all use for MWO?
Cooler Master Storm Recon
http://us.coolermast...ical/recon.html
It has a HUGE thumb button and nice big M1 and M2 button (6 all together) plush 2 nice and big DPI adjustments behind the GIANT scroll wheel!
It's a big mouse and great or MWO and other FPS. You can use all 6 buttons pretty easily but i keep my firing groups to 3 or less for the most part so having that giant thumb button makes group three very, very easy to fire.
