Eventually. IS will get the Mauler first as an Assault.

Don't get me wrong, I may be clan, but I've always had love for the mauler. It was the first battlemech I've ever laid my eyes on when I found mechwarrior 2 mercenaries in a thrift store 50 cent bin

Why on Earth?

This is Battletech, Why on Terra... :)

It appears to be a timeline thing. The mech only had 2 variants before 3050. That's probably a big reason for why we haven't seen it yet. Still, PGI will invent variants, so there is a chance it may happen sooner vs later.

Sooner or later they need to remove the 3 variant perk system...

Mauler has only 1 variant in the current timeline... But we'll be getting 4... 3/4 Mauler variants that will be in the game will be completely made-up. Is that how desperate PGI is to keep that stupid ******* 3 mechs to master rule?...

After looking at the hardpoints, I doubt that many people will be interested on this 'Mech.

Thug kinda looks like an Awesome to me, and most of the variants have the same loadouts.

Nice mech though.

The thug would make for an interesting ppc spam fighter, with a ton of space left over for heatsinks, as well as ammo. It might not hit extremely hard, but it can be extremely efficient

Except, this game would ruin the sweet sweet cool running monster that a Thug is.

Yes, that's how desperate they are.

Hey, the three chassis rule stinks. There's nothing worse than leveling that variant you hate to use the 1 or 2 variants you actually like.

Just don't expect the 3 chassis rule to go anywhere. It's a part of the business model they put together and is ingrained in the game. It might change. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Endless? Can you over heat at all firing 3 PPCs then 2PPCs on a cycle?

When I say endless, I mean a steady stream of volley fire. And trust me, I've tested this, and built it with as much efficiency as I can, I can stream fire them up to 24 single shots before I shut down.

Do the math, these perks are broken.

Quirks* are so broken, that nobody even uses Awesomes!

Everyone must feel soooo bad playing such a broken, op mech, like the Awesome, which is why you can never see them in-game!
It's definitely not because the mech still ******* sucks even with the quirks!
Because it's literally a barn with knuckle-dragging gorilla arms.

While I love the look of the mech it doesn't bring anything new with the way MWO game mechanics work. At 80 tons, 2 (low) arm mounted PPC and those Torso Srm's it's just an Awesome.

Or an Awesome 8T to be more precise, as cdlord already illustrated with his Smurfy-build. In fact I use the exact same build under the name 'Thugsome'. :)

I'd like to see what Alex could do with the thug.
I liked it in MW2:Mercs
