C'mon PGI, punish my stupidity for not creating an IS and Clan account by making me have to pay to split them. pretty sure I would not be the only one and it would give you another hit of $$ to fund the Steam release.

Or let me sell the mechs and gear of my choice to a voucher and then let me gift the voucher to the account of my choice. Put a MC or $$ value on the voucher based on the amount transferred.

Just let me separate my clan from IS mechs already!

Or better yet, do what Star Trek Online did and split the two master factions (IS and Clan) into two different "toons" like STO's Federation and Klingon Defense Force. When you log into the game, it presents you with both. You just pick the one you feel like playing and then load the Mechlab.

This would actually provide the opportunity to craft a new, Clan-oriented Mechlab and UI too...

You mean give them more work for alternative versions of features we already have? X)
Though the first part of the idea I do support.

Check out STO on YouTube and see how they did it. Each Faction has unique items, UIs, Fleets (our Mechbays), etc. It adds immersion and increases the game's depth.

As do I. We already have the IS/Clan separation in the Mech Lab. I realize it would probably take a bit of work to apply that to the 'character', but it would be great to have some more separation.

No no , I get what you'r saying and would it be nice? sure, but this is PGI we'r talking about , they have lke 3 guys doing everything not related to mech design X) , so while they make this they could be making some of the other features poeple seem to be needing.

I don't see the point of this.

Edit: As long as you don't want to force separation I don't mind of course.

If they did this I would have an incentive to buy both is and clan packs. More money for them. And I might play more cw. Or the game in general.

I still don't get the point.

I would like to see this changed as well. The current MWO implementation seems too limiting. However I don't want to create a separate account. The STO solution mentioned above sounds like a good way to go.

So, the point is that you could choose to play Clan or IS in CW? Why not just let everyone pick both a clan faction and an IS faction (let player clans choose 1 of each as well).

I agree I would love to have two characters, maybe even the ability to create different characters for the different factions.

I'd like it if you had 2 "pilots" on your account for clan and IS. Not really interested in splitting.

To be fair, I have 6 Toons for free on my SWTOR account and paid to increase to 12.

2-3 toons on the one account would not be unappreciated.

All it needs is a popup when you open the CW screen asking 'IS or Clam?'. Most people probably wouldn't mind using the same pilot name for both sides, which makes it simply two sets of CW loyalty per player. I can't imagine it would take that much work to do.

Too much sense is being made in this thread. I don't think the MWO population is ready for it.

Btw, I started a new Clan account when I bought my first Clan mech. I knew which way this was going and I knew how long it would take PGI to create any kind of multiple-pilot-per-account system.

I'm sure I'll be upset when PGI gets around to allowing multiple pilots per account, and they don't allow people like me to combine their IS and Clan account. But by then, I figure I've probably had a good run of 4-5 years. :)

I remember when I asked this question in one of the town halls and the response was basically "doesn't sound like a problem".
