But still those are Star Leage era mechs, that would break the current timeline.
I guess we need to add the Flashman to the game now?
Look what PGI is doing. Think about what they will probably add to game next, instead of wishing for Star League era mechs from days gone by.
PGI wants to add in the IS response to the clan invasion. I really hope that means 3052+ mechs and weapons that the IS created from the "Grey Death memory core" to respond to the clan invasion.
Some of those are the IS mechs you are hoping for (like the Devastator, Nightstar, and hopefully the Pillager), along with some new IS weapons (like the heavy and light gauss rifle and RACs) since we will need those to compete with the IIC mechs.
What you are proposing is indeed old tech, but it was introduced in WizKids dark age, which is far in the future of the current timeline, and somewhere IMO we should never go. (along with the Word of Blake timeline, just leave it right out!)

This is the original Warhammer, or maybe Warhammer's grandpa as it were.
Lexx, these TRO were made by Catalyst. Not even that long ago. Wizkidz transferred the licenses for classic Battletech to CGL quite a while ago now. Dark Age and that junk have nothing to do with these XTRO's. Come off it now. These mechs are as legitimate as any other classic BT mech, SOME OF THE MECHS WE ALREADY HAVE ARE LISTED IN THESE TRO'S. Stop trolling this thread, i get it, you want a Bushwacker. Me too. And new weapons. Those require Paul/Russ/etc time to balance and design. mechs require art and model time. I am sure Russ and crew have somthing for the near future weapons on the whiteboard.
In the mean time, Alex and crew could do these.

IMO, this thing would be as recognizable as an Atlas on the field by th time Alex modernized it.

it's funny though, so is the Wolverine and a few others like the battlemaster. I have never actually looked into what exactly PGI can use or not regarding this. I mean did they buy rights from HG for the Battlemaster?
Anyway, it would be pretty sweet to see the Wasp in game. I left it off the XTRO list above because it was on the unseen list. I would add it in a heartbeat if it wasn't lawsuit bait.
The ORIGINAL art is on the Unseen list. The Primitive version... looks different from that!
Also Not the Mackie! Ymir though... Now that is a nice Primitive Mech.
BUT Primitives have different rules for the equipment IIRC. Weights are different as are some Crits.

Actually they are introduced because of the Dark Age "Reduction of Tech", and the cost savings in putting a known design back into production to be a stop gap for the losses in the civil war and Jihad.

I'd rather see mechs like the http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bushwacker and the http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bandersnatch before we see something like that in game.
That isn't a Primitive Mech Its an IndustrialMech.
Abrams Tank(present)
Sherman Tank(Primitive)
Armored car with a Machine Gun (Industrial)

But the introduction has the loop hole that the Mechs were originally introduced BEFORE 2900s. CatLab can use them in any era after the original release date in the Canon. So a Firebee (introduced in 2483) can be a Capellan made Light Mech right now With the

Pretty!!!!!
Is it me or does the chest look like mandibles?
Oh, I _like_ that Wasp! I'd go so far as to say I actually like it _more_ than I like the original Macross Wasp, and that's not something you'll often hear me say about the Unseen!

This is the part of all of it I was trying to put across. For our purposes, and really ANY purpose going forward, these are NOT Dark Age mechs. The fact that is when they were "released" is, IMO, a real world books technicality, and not a truth to be held in the "game world". That is to say, in a role play sense, these mechs always existed, from the dawn of battlemechs- compared to a real world timeline of release sense.
basically, I don;t really care when they were releaed in our world, but I do care when they were released in Battletech world.

This one had less info on it then others, as it was largely a prototype. I do love me some "Half Rifleman" style arms though.
