Fellow Davion Loyalists, it has come to my attention that we may need to gather together our "companys" for strategic planning before the summer of 2012 (3049).

What I mean by this is that we should probably all get Mektek, bust out our joysticks, and prepare for the carnage next year.
(play some rounds in game to hone our skills 'if the game is similar to MW4').

Anyone in favor, post a reply here.

Me and my lance are up for it. Might want to post on the davion forums too.

I reall hope it will not be like MechWarrior 4. Some things in it were nice, but the rest was "crap", to say it nicely. :P

I rather liked MechWarrior 4, but it was the only one I ever played (other than the demo for 3). Would you be willing to share things that you did not like? I am rather curious.....

Locked reticle. It is nice, but when you try unlocked one, you will understand what I did not like about it.

Campaign mode was not really good compared to the previous ones.

Campaign always about filling your lance with Atlases/Sunders/Fafnirs.

Arena too easy...

I have tried both and I like the fixed one, but to each their own.

While there were a few missions that deviated from this (and I had a blast with those), I know what you mean.

Fixed reticle is garbage and it in no way coincides with the fiction. Why build arms on a mech with myomers if your just going to have a fixed target like a tank?

One of the big problems with MW4 is its very point and shoot- you click and your fire goes exactly where you aim it. There is no deviation in accuracy- its all pretty twitch and enables an assault to beat the crap out of any other mech in a shot or two. It makes PPCs so damn easy to use when they should be a skill based weapon only useful for really good shots.
Also, its really open mechlab means multiplayer matches are usually a case of your 100 ton mech with maxed armour being oneshotted by an enemy clan mech with PPCs.

Reinstalled MW4 last night; but no one was playing, lol. Hope to get some games in with all these vets and rookies alike.

Make sure you click the "Connect" button rather than the "Mekmatch" button. You should see a couple servers up.

Come on gameranger. Theres usually some people playing MW4 each night, especially Tuesday nights. There is a little trick to getting the mektek version to run but the people who have it running will be glad to help you. if you want to play with us you can drop us a line at jadefalconclan.com, we're always looking for people to play against where we can practice larger tactical maneuvers with mixed weights instead of just run and gun in assault mechs.

MW4: Mercs had a SP campaign that I GREATLY enjoyed. Still have it installed, so I'd definitely be down.

I had the same problem. Couldn't get into a server with anything in it. It would take me to davion.net, which is empty instead of kurita.net where all the games are hosted.

What I did was get rid of my current install, downloaded the MXC installer, and let it do its thing. With that I was able to get into the right server and find some games to play. It's all automated, and works much better than Mekteks installer.
