It is never my loss when I refuse to buy unsatisfactory product. If anything else, it is PGI's loss. ;)

I know, it's just utterly unplayable...

Un.satis.factory.

It is different from unplayable. Way to take personal opinion out of context.

Eh, either way, from my standpoint, you're just whining. The thing is fine. If you aren't satisfied, well, that fails to be my problem.

Actually it's just 20 tons, which is even crazier.

20 tons... but with a bit of a barrel-chest

So you can see how some writer might feel there is "some room to get at "vital components".

I think he took it at its core meaning:
Synonyms and Antonyms of UNSATISFACTORY
falling short of a standard;an unsatisfactory first attempt at building a birdhouse
Synonyms *******, bush, bush-league, crummy (also crumby), deficient, dissatisfactory, ill, inferior, lame, lousy, off, paltry, poor, punk, sour, suboptimal, subpar, substandard, unacceptable, unsatisfactory, wack [slang], wanting, wretched, wrong

If teh Mech is Unplayable it would not yield good results. Ever. At all.

You say barrel-chest, I say beer-gut :).

I get your point though.

from the 2750 TRO:
"The weapon placement and ease of maintenance have given the design high marks in every technician's manual. The arms and legs are completely accessible, allowing a service crew to actually enter the limbs and work on repairs from the inside. "

The torso one could almost see, with a compact enough reactor/gyro package. The LIMBS? On an 8 meter mech, mind you.

The housing on the laser are is about the size of a Port-a-John. To enter a limb I need a little more than 2 meters.

Be careful when stating an absolute in relation to mech size. When you come around a corner and you're cased with a Hunchback and a Shadow Hawk, think fast..... I would shoot for the Hunchback in most situations simply because I'm thinking "AC20!!!.

I rarely play with the Hunchback. The Shadow Hawk I like because I can shoot over terrain better.

I hope PGI has a scaling matrix that they use and it appears they do. A 50 ton mech should all be withing a few % points of each other in terms of cubic volume. The Clan mechs should, or could in theory be slightly smaller in scale size wise.

To each their own.

It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.

The total mech is 8 meters. A port a john stand 2+meters with a 1x1 meter footprint. The entire lower leg is still smaller than a port a john, and that would be if it's HOLLOW. Ignore the metal skeleton, actuators and myomer bundles.
