Skirmishers still need firepower when they arrive. Anything above a 350/360 on a Zeus is honestly a waste. Heck I got a 400xl in my BLR-1G for giggles but it really doesn't make for a GOOD Mech.

You can take a 6S Zeus and toss on a Gauss (2.5 tons ammo), 4xMPL, and an ASRM6 (1 ton ammo) with a 375XL, 480/494 armor, 14 sinks, an alpha over 50, Smurfy rated cooling efficiency of 42%... Trust me, the 375 on that beast works.

400XL BLR? Lightshow says Hi! And it actually does what some people WANT assaults to do, it goes out and draws fire. Because something that big, moving that fast, spraying lasers around gets attention. With an alpha of 47, it rivals clan mechs of comparable speed. Don't like that weapons load? You can go down to a Gauss and 7xML with 16 sinks. Alpha of 50.

They bring the firepower.

Wanna tell me this is crazy? That's fine, it kinda' is. Being crazy doesn't prevent it from working.

wow, higher than 1:1 you say? That certainly what I aspire for in my Assaults......

You do what you want. I just want the C-Bills. And I get them. A lot. With my LRM Atlas. With XL.

Try that. ditches 1 DHS and the command console to up the engine by 50 rating and add ECM.

Or if you want to get max lock-on times, ditch the ECM for a BAP.

Personally I'd rather have this on my team, if someone feel a need to bring a LRM atlas.

I don't think BAP speeds up lock-ons, just target info gathering and sensor range.

Anyway, I would have more gone with this. Doesn't missile as well as the others you guys posted, but enough speed to have fun playing the "surprise Atlas" game.
