My personal favorite is the location of the 3C's ERPPC, they strapped it on above the cockpit like this thing wasn't a peek machine before.

the 3M has been by far my most played mech the last 3 months - as soon as i finished leveling it i couldn't stop playing it because it's so freaking amazing

i look at my 3M for the first time after the patch

I only kept my dual PPC 3M out of my Cicadas and it looks completely ugly now. I thought it was gonna look sick when it got PPC barrels but nope its my new ugliest mech.
What I cant work out the one that's in the stupid low position isn't even on the torso side side that shares the ballistic hardpoint so someone consciously decided you know what would be great if I added 100% more derp to this for the hell of it.

See, the big issue was before they were on the 'high' mount, now one isn't, making you need to expose more of yourself to fire.

I WAS looking forward to losing the UAC, sadly, it didn't help!

100% of my mech purchase decisions revolves around the weapon mount height in comparison to the cockpit. this ****s the whole reason why i bought the 3M

of course the 3M is still going to be good due to the ECM, but it only had 2 of those great high weapons mounts so to 'destroy' 1 of them just to make the AMS (which only noobs would mount) look 'nice' is insanity. this is basically an uncalled for slight nerf to an IS mech that didn't need one

if the weapons mounts are 'dynamic', then if you don't mount AMS the energy mount should take that top slot

Ah. That one I admit I hadn't looked a lot at. I thought it was fine, but it's not my baby. The 2B was the one that most concerned me and it looks great.

The 3M is a mess. Why are the energy mounts offset? Mounting the classic 2 PPC loadout now looks silly. This is a mech that still suffers from some of the harshest acceleration and turning rate nerfs of any fast mech, simply due to the ECM it carries.

The 3C change is nice in theory but seems to make next to no difference in practice. In game, the PPC bolt still seems to come out from directly right of the cockpit, rather than above it.

The 2A and 2B are okay.

I'd say the only real improvement was to the X5.

Eh? Those were removed long ago.

If you're saying that it doesn't have the buffs that the other Cics have, sure... but there isn't a negative quirk on the Cicada... just less of a buff due to having ECM availability.

This, so much this. I cringed when I saw my 4 ML's placed like that, and actually had to remove the left side laser to be able to look at the mech.

On the other hand, that resulted in a heatsink removal and an upgrade from U-AC5 to a LB-X 10 which gave it a mean look.

I just don't get it.

Every post complaining about the new cicada has the comparison screenies, and every time I look at them, it seems like this newer Cicada is clearly the better-looking, cooler, bad-ass version.

Am I missing something?
