I don't get why everyone is complaining and moaning at this event. Its not like you have to participate, its just a nice little thing for the players who purchased these heroes at release. Not to mention since these heroes weren't out at the time of the hero weekend events. Now that these mechs are out players who own these mechs can compete on a leaderboard like every other hero mech could. Its not like their even baiting people to go out of their way to buy these mechs to compete for this event. The rewards aren't much incentive to do that (maybe if your in the top five the champion is a nice reward). The whole event and sale is just a nice gesture, not a cash grab.

just when i thought i would like what PGI does recently, you come up with such a thing..

i am really REALLY dissapointed, not just that these both just released yesterday, but aswell because 1) they have much better rewards (i didnt see any free mechs in the last 3 leaderboards, anyone?) and they are not even really good compared to the normal variants (honestly, just get the right torso of the quarantine and its gone, Xl engine or not
only thing that makes the s**t dog somewhat viable is the full armor/structure quirks

and it is really NOT nice to do a event where only like 5% of the players can participate while we dont have many players at all

Actually, everyone could participate and win something in the founder challenge (Founders just got an extra bonus with each level).

• 10 points = 1000 GXP (Founders also receive an additional Founders Cockpit Hanging Medallion of their Founder level.)

There is a slight difference in an event made as gratitude to founders where everybody else still can join. Or an event trying to sell more mechs by making it exclusively for those mechowners imho.

So, people don't want an actual chance to be on the board, they just want free stuff? Cause only founders had a chance to be on the board......

If these mechs were actually good this would be a fun and interesting event because I think most would buy and play. The rewards are fairly decent as well. Unfortunately, these 2 chassis have some of the best (best quirked) variants for their weight class already, so it is disappointing to get 2 new mechs that are beat out in every way by mechs that already are out for c-bills by a long shot. A c-bill boost is nice, but when you can get more damage/kills/assists/etc. in a different variant, that c-bill boost doesn't even make up for the difference. Sad because I was hoping the 5S-T would be replacing the 5SS as my main mech. Let me know when the hot fix is out giving the top dog some energy quirks.
