I have 240 pign (Aus) and it's much better for me

Easily got 2 800+ games and 1 550.

Now, when Aus servers come it will be better, but doubt play on it much due to queue time.

And when EU server comes, half the game will migrate to EU only meaning i'l have to tick that box too and over there for me is 330 ping :P

pros and cons all round

My ping hovers around 180~200, and i've noticed a considerable improvement since yesterday patch. Played 10 matches yesterday nite, never destroyed so many components and enemy mechs!!!

It "feels" to be an improvement.

Yep not playing lights anymore. They drop way to easily now. especially with the better HSR and un nerfed streak boats getting about.

Jesus ****, just find a way to deal with them. People please, you can't expect PGI to nerf EVERYTHING that bothers you. There's certain things that are extremely powerful in certain situations, but there's always a response. Get with the program.

I think HSR has improved, the game plays better, finally damage is registering. Nothing more frustrating then hitting a moving light with 3 68dmg pulse laser alphas and their armor turning yellow...not even orange. This seems to be over now.

That being said, my ping jumped from an average of 120 to 180.

Had ONE Maddog loaded with SSRM6s hit me with 1 salvo clean. Lost leg + Arm and Ct critical. Now running radar dep. Only counter.

my normal ping is around 110. When it gets strange it starts to fluctuate between 110 and 130. That is normally for about 5 or 10 minutes after that it begins to fluctuate between 100 and 400. It goes up and down within milliseconds. Everyone is rubber banding and really strange things happen. After 30 minutes it gets back to normal (sometimes it takes several hours though). This happens mostly midweek days around 1800 to 2100 utc.

Sorry johnny that won't work, If you are close enough for them to have a lock, you are dead. If you can make it around a corner that's your only hope. The radar dep only really helps with LRM locks.

Much easier for me to kill lights now even with my lasers and PPCs, so I will give it a thumbs up.

So, 2 matches right after patch... HSR seem to be good again. Have to try later on again if it does degrade like yesterday.

That's my point, as a light you have no business being locked by a maddog. You need to be aware of the tactical situation and the environment and act accordingly. Staying outside of that 300m range is not difficult either.

Now its bound to happen occasionally and thats ok.

Lights got way to aggressive, they have no place going toe to toe with any but the heaviest slowest mechs which they can flank and other lights, they are scout support platforms and should be utilized accordingly.

You'll get used to it.

Here's one example, I was running around on alpine with a commando, I saw a jenner approach me at about 500m but not engage, I soon found out it was stacked with srms. A duel would end in certain death for me, my only choice was to run away and kite the enemy. I didn't like it but I had to do it.

When you see a stacked mad dog, don't engage or go outside of his range and engage then, that's the whole point of lights you get to chose how and when to fight.

HSR improved significantly for me. My ping is 130-140. I played my MLX-D and my LCT-3V today so I could also check how the better HSR impacts light gameplay. Both mechs had lasers equipped so I couldn't check SRMs, PPCs and ACs yet.

1. The Lasers hit and registered the whole day. And they registered on the mech part I was aiming at. I can't recall a single moment where the Lasers didn't register properly. Lights take a lot of damage now. Or should I say Lights take the correct amount of damage now.

2. Yes, other mechs could hit my lights easier. No, I didn't die more often then before the patch. But that's because I don't fight bigger mechs when they focus on me. I also don't run in front of them (ok, I do for the killing blow)

As a dedicated light pilot I want to say that I really like the improved HSR. It doesn't impact me much when I'm playing in a light because I try to avoid getting shot at anyways. You can't hit me if you can't see me. I welcome the thrill boost from being easier to kill however ^_^

For those that said light gameplay is dead after the patch and lights get insta-killed on the first contact. I'm a light pilot and my KDR IMPROVED today B)

must be entirely dependent on the area you are and your ping, which for me lower is not better. I see no improvement in HR for me, still situations where I put lots of shots into lights with little to no register even when they are stopped for a moment in front of me. The one's that really frustrate are those that know this and stand right in front of you or just move slowly back and forth, you are in a heavy or assault and take you out.

Oh by the way my ping is always in and around the high 50's to mid 60's.

Id say Hit reg has improved.

PLayed like 5 pug Q games, 600-680 in 3 of them, in which i score 3 or 4 kills, and 1 where I got 1 kill, and died, scoring 377 dmg in my ZEU. Then another where despite only living for like 30s upon first contact I still scored 137 dmg, guess I only got off like 13 PPC shots...or 3 salvos in my WHK. Even had a game in my piddly MDD-A that did most of its work in a 0-12 wipe with just its MLs. still got 277 dmg, despite not doing much at all.

Then I went into a CW game where for the first time ever my shots were actually registering what seemed to be pretty reliably. I made a few flanking moves into the enemy with PPCs, stood my ground and fired back and was actually seeing results. My Warhawk alone scored 5k, 1060 dmg before dying. Overall that game was 2300 some, 9k.

Prior to the patch on the 7th I had to really struggle and fire all game to get past 350-450 dmg. If I managed to pump many, many volleys into every enemy in the game I could reach 700 dmg with 1-2 kills. But the last few games its just been much of the exact same gameplay, showing up to the fight and shooting w/e I see. Hit reg is ALOT better overall id say.

Still think spreading weapons like the CERPPC have issues. Biggest issue I had was when I got all 3 back sections on an enemy NVA to cherry red, then pumped a full volley of 4 CERPPC into his back as he ran off and he didnt die. I might have to credit some of that to shot collision of PPCs. I was firing at an odd angle through some terrain features, so I wouldnt be shocked if my PPCs were impacting some terrain, but even then, I figured 1 or 2 of the 4 shoulda been enough.

Overall, id say hit reg is working better.
