Hit Registration Of Ppcs Down Again.

Yesterday while using a 2x Erppc nova there were about 10 times in 30 min that I counted , and mby more that I didn't see, that damage did not register , some times the paper doll blincked but no damage was applied and sometimes it didn't blick at all even though I was shooting at a stationary stalker and others spectating me also saw them hit, even the guy getting hit confirmed it when asked.

I noticed this problem to be present also with CUAC's but in a lesser amount.

I have an average 125 ping so that shouldn't be much of an issue, and I checked and it was stable during those times.

P.S. : a side question, are the same servers that host games also are used to download the patch data? If so It might improve after most finish downloading it.

Ppc's have been kaput for a while. Hence why my awesome doesnt use them. And i was in a last man standing duel with an orion (also last man standing) the other night and my panther 10k (dual erppc) only registered about 50% hits and even less damage.

Usually about 95-97 ping.

I did watch 3 out of 5 ERPPC shots from my Direwolf go directly through a legged Spider at close proximity last night (~120m) in one instance. In a separate instance, I saw a gauss slug and an ERPPC bolt go through a Jager at mid-range (~400m).

It does appear that hit reg is better in some instances and worse in others. Pinpoint overall seems worse. I actually didn't use lasers much at all last night but I think they were doing better overall according to some people.

took a sparky out last night with 2LL and 4ML, brawling with a stalker I died and did only 207 damage. Ok.. ...but here is the thing, the brawl was very long, drawn out and at best would have got 10 good clean alphas. That is 380 damage. Then, I also engaged several mechs prior to this.. ..prior to this took out other laser boats and similar issues. The HSR seems worse..

current ping at 270.

Our entire Aussie clan noticed degradation/issues with hitreg..

I love flipping through forums, pointing at the screen and exclaiming "SO IT'S NOT JUST ME!"
Had a game a couple days ago with PPCs on a Misery, shot at a Raven standing directly in front of me and missed twice. I even made a point of this in team chat at the time - my aim is abyssmal, but there was no way I could have missed from there. Fast forward to last night, having put the PPCs back onto a Blackjack, the only shots I made that seemed to do anything ended up finishing off a dying Dire Wolf

Yep, PPCs only work in about 40-55% of games. I hit a stationary Raven with 150 ERPPC damage and it took no damage. I hit a moving Dire Wolf with 200-300 ERPPC damage and it took only light damage on Alpine and generally in that game I did not see the ERPPCs damage any mechs.

Even when ERPPCs work, lasers would always have been better at any range.

Same thing again tonight. I was locking all my targets and the 2xERPPCs caused the armor on mechs to flash, but not change in color after the hit, something that lower damage lasers do cause to happen. I kept the targets locked to see if it was a laggy update to the target pip, but nothing. And it does seem like in some games they work mostly and in other not at all. Maps with likely problems are Alpine and Caustic Valley.

Idk, hit reg seems alot better overall then it used to be. But yeah, ive seen instances where it seems to do nothing. Ofc, the terrain collisions havent been fixed, so the shots still impact nothing alot.

But im also assuming OP is clan? Id still venture to say that split damage on CERPPC destroys hit reg to a degree, since the game has to calculate 3 damage numbers all at once, which im sure leads to some of it being lost, sometimes t he 2.5 and sometimes the 10......

Anyone who mains IS PPC/ER noticed any issues with IS PPC w/o the splash?

Yes the ppc hit reg problem is still very bad. I so wanted it to work again :(

Another thing I seem to be seeing is that if a lot of players are firing PPCs, LRMs, UACs over long distances it's almost certain the PPCs will do nothing. Something about the long distance calculations maybe?
