Everything I see in all the moves they are making from what the game was in closed beta to where it is now and into the future have basically convinced me that MW:O is heading towards being a console game.

I can't wait! 3rd person view is going to be EPIC on the Xbox One ™. I know Live ™ is a great service and Microsoft™ invented Mechwarrior ™ so this is a great thing. Think of the huge crowd of new players. We need to slow down mouse and keyboard aiming to make it more fair for console users, but once that is in I will be good to go.

Well, with how few sim aspects of the game are left I don't see why not. In 3rd person view it would be easy to drive with an xbox controller and throw in we don't actually press that many buttons in the game. Also the system specs do seem to be geared toward running well on a next gen console and they have spent a lot of their time it seems making it run better on the low end. not the high end. Like SLI missing and a few other oddities.

Microsoft invented Mechwarrior to exactly the same extent that they invented MS-DOS :P

While the Xbox180 does have a native DX11 api, it's also backwards compatible with DX9.

But my overall issue is, why the hell do you want gimp yourself with a POS console? People who play with controllers only get their balls stomped in by keyboard/mouse gamers. Also the console is nothing more than a glorified AMD 7790 and will play MWO in low to medium settings, with lower FPS in fire fights.

So why the hell would anyone want MWO on a console and not a real gaming machine is beyond me.

Surely you'd want to port it to a console, not a combo home cinema/1984 big brother prototype?

Far too many of the above responses indicate a complete lack of Trollsense.

Microsoft could... but that's about it. Sucks they are the license holders.

Wonder how World of Tanks and Planet side 2 will work with their "Micro-transactions

but of course the "FINANCIAL ECO-SYSTEM" is different on consoles so there will most likely be adjustments.

personally i wouldn't mind pc games that go multiplatform just as long as the development isn't majorly hindered or changed

actually am curious to see how both of those mmo's will appear on consoles tho

Also, not that it's entirely relevant, but PS supports KB+M as standard and I keep a wired X-Box controller plugged into my PC for stuff like Grid or GTA driving. Controller vs KBM no longer = Console vs PC.

i for one have gotten tired of having a loud *** fan running trying to cool my pc that i need to clean and now my xbox needs the same one to stop from overheating :P

If i could i would play with a controller until i bought a wireless keyboard and mouse

And a wireless headset and mic because i really don't like having 4 wires all around me while sitting at a awkward angle trying to play MWO on my HDTV

But for consoles they would need a vastly simplified and dumbed-down mechlab like in MW4. Getting people to accept that would be difficult, you'd need to trick some people into asking for it so you could claim it was 'by popular demand'. The best way would be to deliberately overpower certain large weapons by removing convergence from the game and ensuring there were a couple of chassis that would be OP when using, just for example, PPCs or AC20s. Of course, people would be suspicious if you didn't try any other fixes first, so you'd have to 'introduce a fix' that you know full well would fail. A good example might be a small heat penalty that wouldn't affect the problem builds to any practical extent.

Oh, wait.....

Their licence is only for PC gaming. There's even another developer who has made a Android/iOS Mechwarrior game.

I should clarify my position due to some responses.

I'm totally serious, and wish I was actually trolling.

More and more I see the game going in the console direction at the exclusion of basic and necessary PC/SIM features. This is not the game that got me to play hundreds of hours in closed and early open beta. It's not a "thinking man's shooter", especially with the upcoming 3rd grade...er person view.

Microsoft owns the IP. Xbone will want flashy, online multiplayer games to show, and its not like Microsoft hasn't bought out entire companies before just to get an exclusive. They would totally buy a game mid development.

I'm scratching my head as to a new feature (that wasn't a weapon nerf) and that made the game more like what was promised when I bought my founder's pack (not an impulse buy either, I played for a week with the 60 founder pack, loved the game so much at that point I bought the 4 pack.).

I accept that in beta things can change, but there have been fundamental reversals and features either missing or added in that basically kill the hope that this game will ever be more than an alpha shooter.
