Well, they should certainly not provide a gameplay advantage. That is called Pay to Win and ends online games. Id be fine with even an absurd C-Bill bonus like +100% though, for what they cost. (and still wouldnt buy one)

I've actually seen about as many golden storm crows as timbers. It's possible people simply don't run them as often, for whatever reason.

Gold Timberwolves were sold to the special crowd that bought them out of blind love for the series and probably don't even play anymore, or rarely do. Dire Wolves went to people looking for gold mechs that missed out on the Timberwolves and knew it was going to be an effective mech (thus you actually still see them occasionally).

Or so I assume.

I've got a gold Adder, but whether or not I can join this depends entirely on the time of when it happens. Unless it's just a "add people and group up whenever you're both/all online" thing, then I'm totally in.

Honestly I think it's a bigger challenge to run them and I only run my gold Dire Wolf. You are definitely a focused target, to the point my mates use me as bait and they swoop in to get the gold kill and end up rekt.

A couple of weeks ago we played a CW match.

One of us said that he saw a gold mech. At first we thought he was kidding. But he insisted that it was a gold mech.
Some of us made it a priority to take the suspect down. After it was downed, they confirmed that it was indeed a gold mech. We urged them to make a screenshot of the mech before it despawend and post it on our forum.

This is the only time when I was aware of a gold mech on the battlefield.

Seeing more than one would seem like a lottery hit.
