  • Class I Jump Jets:
    • Initial boost off the ground increased from 158 to 220
    • In-air thrust increased from 50 to 68
    • Duration of burn (fuel amount) reduced from 4.9 to 4.1
Has anyone really noticed a difference with the changes? I run 3 on my Jenners and TBH it does not seem to have changed that much. As a mech that relies on mobility I consider JJ"s to be instrumental in getting out of spots of trouble.

Granted its a step in the right direction but I think a little more on the initial boost and Duration of burn needs to be increased a bit more. Especially with the changes to Hit Reg again, lights are popping like flies. We have to be able to get our quick enough. With the agility of heavies and assaults being close to lights in regards to twist and arc JJ's might be able to help balance our ability to hit and run.

Just an idea mainly curious what others think of the changes. Have not seen to many threads or infoa about it.

Editted for being a Numb Skull!!!!!!!!

Class V and class II jumpjets weren't buffed for some weird reason.

So now the JJ are totally inconsistent and mediums jump higher than lights with the same number of jets.

PGI pls fix thx bai.

DWF-S has 3.

Even with the changes it still barely gets off the ground. Even the Executioner (5 tons less, with 4) still can't get out of all the canyons on Canyon Network.

That's because the jump jets on lights didn't change. Class I is for assaults, class V are for lights and didn't get any adjustments.

Actually, if you just jump you won't reach the height. You have to actually ride up the hill with the JJs, if that makes sense. I have tried it.

You can't reach maximal height with a standing jump. You need a running start to reach those upper levels. Optimal distance from the wall/cliff/building etc. would be 50-90m depending on your (running) speed.

This ridge near the edge of the map is unreachable with a single jump because it's just too high:

This one near the big ramp in the middle of the map is reachable with a single jump (don't forget the optimal distance when attempting to jump):

Last one is a bonus showing that EXE can do the "golden standard" (leaping onto the roof of the Citadel in River City):

It seems that the "hovering" nature of Class I JJs fools people into believing that the slowness equals to low height and short distance, while actually it can't be farther from the truth.

Ahh, the River City citadel. Some of my finest Nova and Summoner moments have come up there against clueless pugs or even teams in River City night.

A 95t 'mech up there sounds fun.

I think these Class 1 changes should have left burn time/fuel amount alone then they would have been perfect.

Every single medium, heavy and assault in the game got a jump jet buff except one solitary mech.

The Victor!

Does anybody else see the irony?

Nope. No irony here.

Paul did it on purpose. It's nothing but pure concentrated malice.
