Welp, I just had a splat cat flash back.

Then I remembered clan tech is a thing now and I didn't care anymore.

It won't suffer, most likely, but it probably won't be that much benefit. What makes LRMs bad isn't ECM, and 6xSSRM2 is... not scary, especially on a 65 ton mech. SRM brawling can be fun, but it's not really good. Even if it's a bit smaller, the CPLT still does not have a great figure for brawling, the CT is too big, and the dynamic geo makes the arms gigantic.

splatcat shouldn't be bad right now

i only wish they hid all 3 launchers per side in those boxes, not outside of them

Well, from what i've seen the ECM changes won't change much.

We'll just probably see MORE ECM mechs to compensate for smaller range.

at least not the bubble part... rather that 1/4 of the radar range part and it's not changed

I can't even see how your "most likely" is necessary. As is, the Cat's got the smallest side torsos on any IS heavy. It's always come at the expense of a fat head and CT. But with a scale reduction, the cats can only be made more viable. Excellent news for all the Catapults, including the Jesters and Ks.

As for LRMs, I'm not concerned about what goes on in CW or competitive play. In the PUGs, a 90m limit (That's for starters; in his announcement, Paul suggested that it could go down to 60m!) on ECM range can only make LRMs more dangerous. Mechs like the Catapult and the Awesome (which also made the rescale cut, by the way) that have dedicated missile variants can only benefit.

Any information, on which date they implement the rescale patch?

They still haven't completed the voting process. They said there will be a phase 3, which will include us voting whether to make the mechs bigger or smaller (individually).

Even though, every single mech in the top 5 is in need of a down-scale.

Actually, that's mainly due to balance.


SplatCat era actually dealt multiple times more damage, because the "Splash" damage was just another 2.5 to every hitbox in the radius.


Against a Commando, a single SRM6 could deal 90 damage (as opposed to 15) because of that. Both legs, CT, both STs, an arm. 6 hitboxes.

So, that SplatCat dealt enormous amounts of inflated damage (at one point Splash also hit the head) so it could one shot Atlai if you aimed at their face.


You may call power creep...but we don't presently have a 3 ton 90 damage weapon, that could pinpoint damage with Artemis (they flew in and out? or was that another Era?)

Community managed to get it right, in spite of itself.

A pity the Trebuchet was left out, but hopefully we can cut through the idiocy and get it added in the next (hoping here, not a guarantee) batch?

The missile slots outside of the missile box, I like. You put a streak in each box. Now you put two srm6's in each box. Now you have full arm armor, plus you can shoot your srm's without opening the box.
