Right now as it stands, Flamers are pretty much useless.

Yes, they *can* be used in a good way, but you really need to excel to get them to function properly.

Simple fix for this:

1: Make flamers generate non-exponential heat. Just linear heat. That way a single flamer can't overheat a stalker with nothing but 56 heatsinks. It's a real video, honestly. Exponential heat is a terrible idea.

2: Make flamers generate much, much larger heat for the enemy. You are coating their 'Mech in f*cking helium plasma after all.

Bam.
Fixed.

Want to see flamers that work? Check out Mechwarrior: Living Legends. The flamers in there have super-short range like in here, and don't do any damage, but generate tons of heat for the enemy.

Not complicated to make, and gives them a useful niche against laservomit builds.

They wouldn't be OP either, since the range is still 90m, and they don't do damage.

Flamers neutralizes heat sink efficiency. You must use more flamers to overbeat heat dissipation of other mech.

At least give dedicated flamer mechs, such as the Firestarters, some large, worthwhile quirks to negate heat buildup, whilst using flames. I find it very strange that a mech specifically designed and named for the purpose of using flamers is not insulated better than other mechs when using these weapons. Why have a hero mech called the "Ember" when the first thing we do is replace the flamers with lasers? Please share some love to the Adder as well.
