4 LPL warhawk while unimaginative is a real contender.

dual Ultra AC20 warhawk can chew a battlemaster apart before he says "bacon" really ive seen this mech maul 3 assaults in a row with sheer dps.

battlemaster is really nice too with its high mounted torso hard points. i like mine with 6 LL or gauss+ laser vomit altho its arm is a bit low for hill humping.

wub master is something to be feared and respected.

i have both i like them both i would get both :P

Bunshee did cross my mind, but it was too much of a one trick pony. If I am gonna get 3 variants per mech, might as well have them be different.

Banshee one trick??? Yeah but is best trick.

M can Wub like a mo-fo, has some high mounts, can XL400(so can buttmaster), GIANT SHIELD ARMS.

E is Dakka king. 3AC5 for dakka pleasure.

S can semi-clan (Gauss+LPL+ML) or Gauss+PPC+ML or AC20+LL+SPL

WARHAWK...im starting to like. Best Clan Dakka quirks...far as i can tell. VERY versatile once you get past the weird builds. Can Lazor, can Dakka, can LRM(yuck), can SRM.

Brawling in a Warcock is a high risk/reward proposition. VERY Glass Cannon: 1LPL, 4MPL, 4ASRM6= @96(to lazy to calculator) alpha WITH nice cooling and speed at cost of hitboxes.

Dual Gauss is good with 30% cooldown. 2UAC10/20 is also good.

Gauss+2LPL+4ERML(or was it MPL?)

5MPL+LRM45

ERPPC Sniper of Joy. 4ERPPC+TC/4eRPPC+more DHS, or 3ERPPC+TC7 for +30% VELOCITY.

Pro Build: 2MG, 5 Flamer, 3SSRM. Because you can.

Warcock is very bully. Dont fight face to face in a fair fight. Be ghetto. Hit when they dont look, or get your friends to do the hard work.

Then BUttmaster, Warhawk can try many builds but only laser or PPC vomit works. Or maybe you can get SRMs and GRs to work for you, I cant get over the charge...

I stole from Falconium.

Just gonna say this...

Go with the battlmaster...

The Warhawk is a big moving box that is sooo easy to shoot, and is often mistaken for the Direwolf and focused as a primary target...

I won one in a tournament, and sold it..

Hard to decide between these two 85 tonners. Both run pretty fast, both can have good energy or missile build. One has high mounted weapons while the other has durable XL.

Currently leaning towards the Buttmaster...

If you are referring to the Battlemaster It's nickname is Beemer Not Buttmaster.
Get with the program.

BLR. Hands down. Dont run it with an XL though (my opinion) as its STs are huge and people expect it to have an XL.

BLR-3S is pretty nice. Can swap a LPL to a MPL and upgrade engine a bit, but i prefer this due to better dmg at range.

I like your thinking, not my style of Mech, but I see what you wanna do in this build.

If ya get the 3 Battlemasters you can configure all 3 for different roles (one of my favorite LRM boats was a Battlemaster), if ya get 3 Warhawks you can sell 2 after elitin em and just reconfigure the 1 to your needs. Imo both mechs can be very good if built right (I dont see 1 really outpreforming the other by a huge margin).

I'd say Buttmaster, just because it's Inner Sphere.

Clan tech is for filthy vat-borns.

honestly I dont understand this IS/C fanatism.
WHY ?

i like both mechs side, even I have currently more IS mechs in garage.
Would you say the same, when we get IIC Urbies pack for 20$ ?

Warhawk is softer and has more range.

Battlemaster harder and a better brawler.

If you wanna get in their face go the Battlemaster.

If you like hanging back a little go the Warhawk.

Warhawk is more agile.

I own multiple of each chassis and I like em both. The Warhawk suits my play-style better but that's me!

Opps almost forgot, Cbills does vary a lot between them.

probably get 3 Battlemasters for 2 Warhawks. Including Doubles and Endo if needed.

Battlemaster has the ability to mount any engine and any number of heat sinks so you can personalize the mech to your needs.
On a Warhawk, you are stuck with XL 340 and 20 DHS, and that limits your options.

Battlemaster is the master of poking (3xLPL + 3xML is a god-tier cannon - 48 damage under 0.7 seconds can really burn holes through mechs), While a Warhawk can sustain high dps thanks to great UAC quirks.

I don't have a Warhawk (as I am almost entirely IS), but I do have some Battle Masters from the Phoenix pack.

It's one of the few Assaults I kinda like. The 1G is probably my favorite. 3 PPCs (2 high mount torso, 1 in right arm) and 4 MLasers a long with a STD 340 I believe. It can alpha ok once elited and with the very high mount PPCs, it can do fire support.

I like the Zeus a bit better for mobility, but the Zeus's weapon locations aren't nearly as ideal as the Battle Master.

Overall it is very solid and I like it.

BLR-1S is the best LRM boat in the game, or with +25% energy range + range modules it can mount LPLs with a 500m range

i do both lol - 361 games and counting....

Neither. Both fail badly in the role of helping you win. Both can be mastered though. Warhawk is ER Laser or ERPPC plus LRMs, Battlemaster would be Lasers. Stalker is tougher than either and more like an 85 ton mech should be in resisting damage.

Is that a Falcons Jersey? And to think, I used to respect you. ;)

Edit: Nevermind, see the TB logo. But still

Edit Edit: I should probably add to this thread in a constructive manner.

I'll always go with the Battlemaster, the BLR-1G is one of my favorite mechs, although I hate just throwing beams in the torsos and calling it good.

They both have builds/variants to do different things, so if money is an issue, get the BLR. If not, get both!

I still prefer the Butt over the Warhawk in any role.

Go for it ;)
