I play CW with trails alot. Most times I have a drop with 2 or 3 Trails. I am a casual player. So I don't have the credits to buy me alot of mechs. At the moment I have 5 mechs and I am playing for 2 or 3 months now.

I see trail mechs often. My ELO must not be too high :P
One of my friends just started playing the game.
New players exist.

Play CW a bit if you are looking for noobs. It's literally full of people unable to break 500 damage with 4 mechs and trial mechs.

Odd they are found in CW. Although that makes sense because there is no ELO??

Yeah, you will find some of the worst players with close to unplayable builds in CW. Those who already own 4 mechs and just use terrible builds aside, i see atleast 3-4 players using nothing but trial mechs in pretty much every game CW. Which is somewhat sad because new players usually get obliterated in CW. Many of the trialmechs (clan and is alike) are nothing but deathtraps.

Do not play CW, if you would stay with this game.

Well, CW offers free mechbays. that's why newbies (and their trail-'mechs) are so frequently seen there.

Also, CW is the only respawn style game mode, which suckers in players who don't have patience.

This... is so true. Last time I played CW, I dropped with a group where only 2 were in a unit, and all could not do over 5-600 damage, while I got ~3000 damage and 15 kills. It really drove home that there is no actual MM in CW.

It's weird dropping with new players. I guess the matchmaker does a good job of keeping them away in the solo queue for the most part, because I can't recall the last time I saw someone bring a trial mech.

some trial mechs are not bad, like the victor-9s(c), however the clan hbr and mdd are horrible, not only very hot but with HALF their armor., it's all about taking the time to look for proper trial mechs.

The trial victor is OK for someone who knows how to play this game. New player? Will be dead in seconds. Everyone knows the trial build uses a xl engine. New players don't twist damage in most cases. It's a assault mech with the armor of the lightest mech in its class, without basic skills and a xl engine.
They should avoid xl engines for trial assaults alltogether. Anyone who played this game for a while will realize it's a trialmech and xl core it within seconds.

The explanation could actually be that there are more new players, enough to avoid putting them in the high ELO matches.

I'm a glass half full kind a guy, I know.

While I would like to think this is the case, although I find it to be highly unlikely.
